American man reveals Indian CEO took over a firm, booted out founders, hired Indians. Post goes viral amid H1B visa debate

Elon Musk said H-1B visa system can be "easily fixed"

Days after vowing to "go to war" to defend the H-1B visas, tech billionaire Elon Musk on Sunday said the system, which is used to bring skilled foreign workers to the US, is "broken" and needs a "major reform".

Mr Musk and Indian-American tech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy have recently clashed with supporters of US President-elect Donald Trump over the issue of immigration.

Mr Musk and Mr Ramaswamy, who are set to be part of the incoming Trump administration, have backed the H-1B visa program.

In response to a post on X, the social media site he owns, Mr Musk said he has "been very clear" that the program is "broken" and "needs major reform". He was responding to a user who said the US needs to be a destination for the "world's most elite talent", but the H-1B program "isn't the way to do that".

Mr Musk, who himself migrated from South Africa on an H-1B, said the system can be "easily fixed" by raising the minimum salary significantly and adding a yearly cost for maintaining the H-1B, making it "materially more expensive to hire from overseas than domestically".

Last week, Mr Musk said bringing elite engineering talent from abroad was "essential for America to keep winning."

Mr Ramaswamy, the son of Indian immigrants, also echoed Mr Musk's sentiments. He argued that the US culture has long celebrated "mediocrity over excellence".

"A culture that celebrates the prom queen over the math olympiad champ... will not produce the best engineers," he posted on X.

Debate Over H-1B Visas

Many of Donald Trump's supporters have been increasingly pushing for scrapping the H-1B visa programme amid debate over immigration. The matter flared up after Trump chose Indian-American entrepreneur Sriram Krishnan as an adviser on artificial intelligence policy in his coming administration.

Laura Loomer, a right-wing influencer, criticised Trump's selection, along with far-right figures like Ann Coulter and former Congressman Matt Gaetz.

She accused Mr Musk and Mr Ramaswamy of undermining American workers.

One viral post on X accused Mr Krishnan as an "India First" operative whose goal was to "replace American workers."

"Looking forward to the inevitable divorce between President Trump and Big Tech," Ms Loomer, a MAGA figure known for her conspiracy theories, said.

"We have to protect President Trump from the technocrats," she said.

Mr Musk fired back at his critics and warned of a "MAGA civil war."

He also swore at one critic, saying, "I will go to war on this issue."

Trump Backs Musk In H-1B Visa Debate

Donald Trump has sided with Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy in the public dispute over the use of the H-1B visa, saying he fully backs the program for foreign tech workers opposed by some of his supporters.

Trump, who moved to limit the visas' use during his first presidency, told The New York Post on Saturday he was likewise in favour of the visa program.

"I have many H-1B visas on my properties. I've been a believer in H-1B. I have used it many times. It's a great program," he was quoted as saying.

Looks like MAGA has whipped this buffoon into acquiescence just like zionists did earlier when he empathized with Palestinians.

What was the gameplan here?
Boris, Patel, Sunak and Braverman are all connected to zionists.

Gave up membership in EU and lost free access to worlds second Largest market. Mind bogling desicion.
End game has always been to import street pooping cyber coolies to make up the numbers whence the western populace realizes the absolute repression they're enduring at the hands of zionist baby killers.

It is really backfiring against Indians. A lot of people are sick and tired with the job scavenging by Indians. Such incredible greed.
The sad things is the decades and decades, not just Indians, but all Desis have spent to properly assimilate and play by the rules and win jobs and promotions on hard work / merit.

It’s backfiring on everyone, because of those that got greedy and hurt the meritocratic system. A lot of other minorities as well as whites have noticed and it has become a major issue that may fuel racism, which is so messed up.

More Indians are realizing that uncouth behavior won’t be tolerated any longer, especially when the economic prospects in the world are tightening. The following Indian YouTuber points out a lot of points, but while some of it may be racism, but some of it is about behavior.

Most Americans only use to know who Desis were from their local doctor or other well disciplined person. But the new influx has changed perceptions.

Look at the anti Muslim behavior increasing over the past 15 years in the Indian community and the caste based preference in hiring in California that had to become court cases.

Why are you against H1B. Were you rejected for H1B at one time?
As far as india is concerned H1B has served its purpose. Indians have become totally intertwined with thee US tech industry. Now if H1B is removed, US tech will have to shift a lot of its offices to india.

Ultimately, why do shareholders and business owners promote Indians not just in tech roles but also in managerial and leadership positions? Because it delivers results and makes economic sense. The average American can complain all they want, but these are the rules of free-market capitalism, and it’s not going anywhere. Their forefathers enjoyed a good life and created a better future for this generation, largely by championing and spreading the idea of free markets globally (which, I agree, was a positive move). Countries were sanctioned, and arms were twisted to grant access to U.S. multinationals.

Now, the playing field is leveling. Mark my words: American corporations are going to shift even more jobs to India. This is happening quietly, unlike the loud debates around H1B visas, but it’s the real heavyweight move in this tech game—and it will benefit any nation ready to seize the opportunity.

And as for all the Bangladeshis and Pakistanis who claim Indians are just serving the whites, let’s be clear: we’re not just taking low-paying taxi or menial jobs. We’re taking the high-paying, skilled jobs that once enabled the West to give their next generations a head start. The issue reeks of “how dare you take something better than what we get,” while many fellow South Asians seem content to scramble for the crumbs left over by the Westerners.

For all the racist rants, the reality is that the next generation of lower-level Americans may eventually need monthly stipends or some form of social security to stay afloat. As always, American political and corporate leaders will sort this out in their own way.

Get off your high horse. The hlb is a low wage scam the idea that ALL of these H-1B Indians are high tech is a lie and as others have said the few that are legit high skilled are held in roles they can't change because of the way the sponsorship works. These are jobs Americans will do and many are laid off in favour of less expensive hibs etc never mind the fact that often times the hiring managers are often either double dipping or have family that are profiting off the US hiring in India.

THIS is REALLY going to piss off his supporters in the Rust Belt!

When Pakistanies and Bangladeshis fume and fret, that means we are in the right. Cope 😂

With the ongoing visa debate heating up, I doubt Bangalore has enough office space to accommodate the massive job shifts that are bound to happen soon.
Why again Bangalore despite being saturated? Why not other cities?

Why again Bangalore despite being saturated? Why not other cities?

Other cities like Hyderabad, Chennai, and Delhi NCR are thriving as well, but Bangalore stands out for a few key reasons. It enjoys near-perfect weather, a business-friendly IT policy from the state government, and an ecosystem that has been nurtured over decades. For instance, many labor laws in India, which can be quite draconian and largely benefit a few politically connected labor unions, don’t apply to the IT industry in Bangalore. This flexibility has made the city an attractive hub for businesses.

Additionally, nearby cities like Mysore etc also show great growth potential. With a 10-lane expressway connecting it to Bangalore and an operational airport growth can easily spill over to nearby cities...

Cry me a river. By that logic, whites can also drive taxis and pick strawberries. Let’s not pretend all Pakistanis and Bangladeshis in the West are Nobel Prize winners or billion-dollar tech founders, yet you and your extended families are comfortably there.

If companies like Visa, American Express, Coca-Cola, Cisco, Citigroup, Ford, Jeep, Procter & Gamble, Colgate-Palmolive, Pepsi, Amazon, KFC, Pfizer, 3M, and countless others can access the Indian market, then Indian tech services have every right to offer their expertise and workforce in the U.S. The real issue is that some people are fine with foreigners doing low-tech, menial work, but balk when those same foreigners excel in high-value jobs they consider their own.

And let’s not kid ourselves—American political and business leaders fully understood how the system would be used. They’re the ones enabling India to capitalize on this opportunity because it benefits them economically. At the end of the day, it’s not about skin colour or feelings—economics will always dictate the rules of the game.

Well firstly your soft power reputation has taken a hit in terms of being seen as an almost wholly competent hard working group that had gone unchallenged for a long time, and that too amongst your fellow corporate class who always have had mixed reviews

Remember parents get very fierce over opportunities for their kids

Then finally, what Americans do you mean? Outside of the investor, managerial and elites who is in favour of more and more h1b

If this went to a referendum let's say, h1b would end tomorrow for various different reason
Is it though? What's this issue all about? Indian Americans stealing high paying jobs. It's not about crime, illegal immigration overwhelming the system but indian immigrants who gets paid upwards of $80k is replacing Americans. Like lol this is the big reputational damage Indian Americans are going to take? I'd take that anyday over being called terrorist.
What's next? Banning spell bee for Indian Americans? Or kicking Indians out of International science and math Olympiads? Sure these recommendations of wignats are seriously going to affect our softpower and reputation. Thanks for pointing it out.
I couldn't care any less about if Americans decide to end H1B, you think this as a zero sum game. There is enough high paying jobs everywhere, the world is our playground, if we want to migrate we can, I'd rather have these folks stay in India and be part of our economy.
All the Asians countries went through this phase, an uptick in a number of smart immigrants to the west and once economy hit the middle income the migration got lower and lower.

You don't excel in tech. Out of those who made it to the UK about 2 to 3% are okay, the rest are mediocre at best, and absolute vast majority are pretty useless. Keep in mind that the ones who made it to the West are the best of the best. The ones who work for the outsourcing body shops in India - are predominantly useless. This is based on people I know with 20 plus years working in tech This whole thing is about cheap labour . That’s it . Typical Billionaire who wants more money Musk!
