In the UK and tons of Indians thrive in tech, finance, healthcare and investment banking, while most Pakistanis are driving taxis or working in so-called 'Indian' restaurants.
If you think otherwise, you’re delusional. Just look at the facts:
Ethnicity Employment Report
In 2021, 39.8% of Indian workers were in professional occupations—the highest among all ethnic groups. Meanwhile, the combined Pakistani and Bangladeshi group had just 21.9% in professional jobs, the lowest. Also, 25.9% of them worked in distribution, hotels, and restaurants—the highest in this sector.
Time to wake up and face reality.
That's easy to figure considering the nation picks from the top 10% of Indian migrants anyway, so hence their overrepresentation in such jobs. The UK Indian community has far more recent arrivals and isn't reflective of the general population. The majority white community also has 16.3% working in hotels and restaurants which is more reflective.
Take for instance the banking and finance sector, which is the highest paid. 16.3% Pakistanis/Bengalis and white 18.1%, so reflective of the populace. For Indians its 21.2% as many Indians arriving here come into finance jobs.
Education and health it's 31.3 Pakistani/Bengali and 32.3 Indian, roughly the same. Why? Very few Indians arrive working in the education sector.
Look at transport and communication i.e. driving trains, buses, cabs, baggage handlers call centers etc.
Indians 18.9% and Pakistanis/Bengalis 14.4
A job is a job.
