banana?
we have tension with the chinese too. I think it’s even worse than between China and Philippines. but at the end of day the Chinese are capitalists. trey see Vietnam offering fruits with lower costs, faster delivery, better quality.
for us making car or banana is similar to making shoes. no difference.

Has Vietnam been sending ships or planes to Chinese held islands in the SCS like almost every fortnight for the past 2 years?

Sure, there's tension and disagreement, but it's another matter entirely when you try to escalate it deliberately to serve the interests of the US.

His antics are not only making headlines in Western media, but also in Chinese media, so people are obviously less inclined to buy Filipino fruits.

TBH it doesn't really matter. China exports more to the Philippines than vice versa. That's a win in my book. Philippines doesn't have much to offer to China except fruits that's pretty much all they got 10 billion worth of export that's massive. No problem. They buy our goods we eat their fruits win win . As for the situation in the South China sea, china is still the main player no matter what. They can do all these stunts for the Western media it won't change anything on the ground lol

in long term Thailand fruit industry is finished.

I remembered few years back a chinese poster here claimed Vietnamese fruits especially Durian had no chance in China because Chinese loved Thai fruits.
Hold your horses there.

Thailand’s durian would take more than cheap labor to be replaced.

There is another factor at play here. The Chinese have been doing R&D on Durian varieties and growing Durian within China. They still have not reached the level of Thailand but give it a few years and they will reach the level of quality.

In that case you can kiss good bye to cheap Vietnamese Durians and quality Thai Durians.

But anyways, Thailand has a sizeable domestic market for Durians.

Thailand and Malaysia are both top durian producing countries with high-quality durians. I don't know much about Vietnamese durian but I bet they don't taste as good. Cheap is not always better

that’s not easy.
certainly China can grow durian or banana, Germany can grow coffee and pepper, but who wants to buy them? both don’t have fertile sol, don’t have hot humid climate, don’t have time to take care of the plants. banana in german supermarkets taste like eating styrofoam with sugar coating.
my family has a small plot of land in southern Vietnam. they plant young durian. in order to take of the trees they build a house directly to the farm.

I don’t understand. why should we thank him? what did he do?
Amazing how Vietnam went from war torn to an economic powerhouse. In Canada I have not seen a single Chinese electric car. The other day I saw Vinfast, with V as the logo. I thought Volvo changed their logo. So I looked it up. I was shocked to see that Vinfast was a Vietnamese electric cars company, WOW. Good for you guys! I can only hope we with the retarded bearded goofs get some economic relief by producing.

I have a few friends who grow durian on their lands since a few generations (Chanthaburi province).

The Chinese pre order their Durians and their containers await in the warehouse nearby.

The Chinese have a strange obsession with exotic fruits.

I think yes, VF will focus on major population centers. it will partner with local indian companies. the same way it does in Indonesia.

@Viet bro

I am hoping they will use it as a hub to export their cars as well.
