In February 2024, a deal was signed with the South African company GEW HENSOLDT to purchase the RES9000 electronic warfare system for ground forces and radars for naval forces, as well as another contract for maintenance and repair of electronic warfare systems in service.
There is a major modernization of all branches of the armed forces, but it is being done slowly, with the requirement of transferring technology and away from political niceties.
The RES9000’s objective is the interception of modern radar signals for precision direction finding (DF), tactical visualisation of gathered emitter information, emitter classification and matching of intercepted emissions to an emitter library, and reporting and tracking of radar threats in the 0.5 GHz to 40 GHz frequency range.
A novel, instantaneous-bandwidth, wideband receiver provides exceptional situational awareness, with a very high probability of intercept (POI). In combination with a high-sensitivity narrowband receiver, the system allows for high-fidelity radar parameter extraction and matching to emitters. Omnidirectional coverage and high-accuracy direction finding is done through multi-channel processing of compact full band staring antenna arrays.
Accurate emitter classification and matching to a user populated threat library is achieved through advanced artificial intelligence (AI) and machine driven analysis. ELINT processing and analysis is available with the addition of HENSOLDT’s ELINT analysis software which is specifically designed for advanced, technical analysis of low-probability-of-intercept (LPI) and time-overlapping modern radars.

In the additional deal for (3) Avante 2000 Corvettes with Navantia, with the support of SAMI, the total number of Avante parts will be (8) in service.
- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia stipulated that (2) pieces be built in Saudi Arabia, provided that experiments and tests are conducted on Saudi territory.
Fincantieri has announced its Saudi branch, Fincantieri Arabia
To build ships, marine equipment and systems, local partners will be identified
Saudi Arabia stipulated the transfer of intellectual property rights to the Avanti 2200 design, allowing the design to be used to manufacture future Corvettes for the Kingdom..As well as to potential export markets..
- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia stipulated that the Saudi company SAMI be responsible for supplying the combat system for the three corvettes, “Hazem/Hazem.” (As the first Arab unit to carry a home-made combat management system)

According to Navantia's press releases:
-"With the effective start of this new contract, the last of the three ships is scheduled for delivery in 2028. Navantia will be responsible for the delivery of the first unit, while the second and third will be completed in Saudi Arabia, including the installation, integration and testing of the combat system, as in the previous contract."
It says 2nd and 3rd to be completed in Saudi--not to be built.

-"With the Kingdom’s ambition to localize shipbuilding capabilities, the contract also includes a comprehensive training plan for more than 100 Saudi engineers and the manufacturing of blocks for the third corvette in Saudi Arabia.
