Many other armies also use segways. It's not seen often. Allows for quicker mobility for troops trying to patrol or travel over a distance compared to on foot. Compared to motorcycles, they are more compact to move and easier hop on/off. Also, they tend to be electric so they're quieter than motorcycles/atv/utv.

The US was testing an electric segway called EZRaider for offroad electric mobility.
