They are impressive prototypes but we don't know if or when they will translate into something worthy of mass production and you might have missed this thread. The US has a rich history of developing impressive aircraft and the American war machine is technologically superior in many areas and I would like to see which country wants to test it in a conventional war. The NGAD is a modernization program that is not limited to creating a new fighter jet in its scope but involves creating a family of systems and technologies that will be incorporated in F-35 Block 4 along with Mako hypersonic munition. Bad press notwithstanding, F-35 produces battlefield effects to such an extent that even Afghans praise it in their books.

There is a lot more to a war machine that you don't seem to understand and focus too much on optics. The imperial Japanese war machine was also impressive in World War 2 but what happened in the Pacific War? The Japanese had military achievements to tout as well. Chinese also have mixed battlefield outcomes and PLAN does not have operational experience like the USN. China can bomb Taiwan but we don't know that it can handle the USN in war. WE have theories and claims at best.

It's even more then that, India is the natural hegemon in south Asia
