DeepSeek, China's AI model: News & Discussion

China was meant to overtake the US GDP in 2025 and the gap was around $6 trillion dollars in 2023

now its opened up to over $10 trillion

China needs to catch up

The US keep counting inflation into their GDP.

The real GDP is the production + technology + military, not based on the fiat currency.

China's 2025 GDP is similar to the US GDP of 2020.

Do you really see that the 2025 USA has any major leapfrog over the 2020 USA?

American tech and productivity boom combined with $2T invested in infrastructure, manufacturing, and clean energy has the US economy booming.

China is barely outpacing the US in real GDP growth. A single percentage point drop in Chinese growth rates would have the US economy outgrowing China in real GDP.

The US is on pace to reach $40T GDP by 2033 and $50T by 2040.

People who don't understand real wealth talk about US nominal GDP.

Serious people talk about production capability and technological levels.

China is now ahead of the US by some distance and the gap is just growing.

The US leads China in about every technological field that matters. AI hardware and frontier models, quantum computing/sensing, cloud computing, aerospace/reusable rockets, semiconductors, biotechnology/pharmaceuticals, EVs etc etc.

Venture capital flows to the most innovative companies, and the US science and technological ecosystem is unmatched.

US household net worth is $168.8T. That’s “real wealth.”

Err VC is western concept.

Means nothing in terms of competition with China.

AI.com somehow redirect to deepseek, could they have bought the domain?

semiconductors
Hows the US more advance in semi conductor manufacturing when they use Dutch EUV machines. China can make advance chips as well but the sanctions on advance EUV machines is hampering them. If its a level playing field Intel will start to see a rapid decline.

Venture capital flows to the most innovative startups and ideas. It’s a sign of the most innovative science and tech ecosystems. So yes it matters

Because ASML machines heavily rely on American technology. Their EUV light source is based on Cymer technology, an American company.

Their second and third largest manufacturing sites for critical subsystems are based in Connecticut and San Diego.

American technology throughput in the semiconductor chain is dominant.

It’s why the US holds so much power over companies like TSMC and ASML. The US holds the crown jewels of semiconductor technology and the prominent position over the entire industry.
