Turkish Foreign Policy and Regional Geopolitics

would be amused if they started harassing the Italians and tried harming Italy's economic and defense interests by trying to block Turkey. It will backfire as that would annoy the Italians and may lead them to retaliate in places the Greeks did not intend.
You're taking it too far now,no such thing.

The Greeks really think they run the EU or something, they throw around weight that does not belong to them.
You're both right and wrong here:

We have the right and should be trying to block or hinder the geopolitical and economic triumph of a country which has stated numerous times threats against us and who follows a policy of disputing our territorial integrity and economic prosperity.

No,we don't act like we "run the EU".

But what I do agree with you on is that our politicians think we have enough power to demand something from our NATO allies and EU partners. There is a suspicion that all this is just for internal consumption and public attention,to show the voters that "hey,we protested",while one can easily do that behind closed doors.

These little Balkan Minnows really think they can push Italy around. lol
Please give yourself an infaction point, you're being nasty.

Malaysia, Turkey to deepen defence, trade ties, says Erdogan

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia and Turkey will deepen their cooperation in defence, says Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Highlighting joint efforts in naval and drone technology during his two-day visit to Kuala Lumpur, he said defence ties between the two nations have entered a new phase.

Erdogan pointed to the construction of a second batch of littoral mission ships for the Malaysian navy under a partnership between Malaysian and Turkish defence firms.

“We have reached the stage of reaping the fruits of this vision. The building of the second batch of littoral mission ships is now under way,” he said in a speech here, also attended by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

Erdogan said Turkish Aviation Industries will offer jobs to 100 young Malaysian engineers.

Expanding trade and economic ties

Erdogan said Turkey was also committed to expanding trade and investment with Malaysia, with bilateral trade surpassing US$5 billion (RM22.35 billion) in 2024, in line with previous targets.

He said both nations were now working towards increasing trade to US$10 billion in a balanced manner.

“From semiconductor technologies, automotive and aircraft technologies to civil simulators, we wish to enhance our joint efforts in each and every sector,” he said.

Erdogan also noted that Turkey’s second-largest airport is operated by Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd.

Greeks have total 36 Meteor missiles, me is repeating myself :p . Greece do not have the money to arm themself. They are trying tobuy protection from France or Americans, with 32 meteor missiles you do not have much chance. We asking 300 meteor missile and Greece buyed 36 and demand that they are not going to sell it to us:ROFLMAO:.

Like the AIP submarine, they are buyng the submarine but they do not have the money for the weapons. If you go and read ther F16V upgrade, thats the most poor upgrade is made.

Faking dreampipe.

Don't be too hasty,Mitsotakis met with Macron and talked about this. Apparently, nothing has been decided yet and the French are not inclined to give Meteor to Turkey just yet.

Mitsotakis met with Macron and talked about this.

Yeah that must mean Macron must have agreed to everything Mitsotakis told him to do. lol

The way its looking France seems to be looking towards cooperation, Macron called Erdogan and they spoke a few days back, on top of the French Senate report and now a French Military official is visiting Turkey. Looks to me like France seems to be reassessing its outlook.

France made it clear it isn't their initiative. It's most probably the British. Maybe both British and Germans, but I think it's mostly the British.

Oh its definitely a British initiative to Sell the Eurofighter.

But thats not what I'm referencing, I'm saying when taken all as a collective, France isn't taking a hostile confrontational role against Turkey, and seems to be switching towards cooperation.

In the current environment for France to actively go out of its way to kill a British sale and cause friction with the Brits, on top of creating issues with regards to what seems like a cooperative outlook(the French general visiting, Macron's call with Erdogan, the French senate report), it seems less likely.

Greek Media is saying Macron told Mitsotakis blocking the sale was impractical as the missile is produced by a six-nation consortium. lol

Indonesia's new president is far more serious about Defense. Indonesia is finally spending comparable to its GDP.

Google translation because it's a very interesting development:

French Commander at Headquarters… Is Meteor on the Agenda?

French Armed Forces Mediterranean Region Commander Vice Admiral Christophe Lucas and his delegation visited the Director General of Defense and Security, Major General İlkay Altındağ, at the Ministry of National Defense Headquarters. It was noteworthy that the visit took place at a time when Greece was trying to prevent the sale of Meteor Air-to-Air Missiles to Turkey by putting pressure on France. While Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis wants to block the sale, French President Macron is following a moderate policy by reminding Mitsotakis that France did not lead this sale. If Turkey procures the Meteor along with the Eurofighter, the balance in the Aegean airspace will change in Turkey's favor.
