Syrian Civil War and The future of Syria after liberation

As far as I know Turks don't speak Arabic and "majoos" does not mean "Persian" but refers specifically (and only) to those who worship fire / Zoroastrian priests.

So its all good if someone calls a Zoroastrian a Majoos here?

Aren'y you Zoroastrian?

I don't know if that term it is still widely used in Arabic today to refer to Zoroastrians given the relatively tiny number of Zoroastrians alive today. As far as I know it is exclusively used as an insult today (in contrast with "Tork" which is a common and neutral word in Persian).

The interesting point here is that according to the Quran, Majoos are among the followers of the divine religion.

Now, why do Wahhabi Arabs use this word as a negative thing? Maybe they don't believe Quran.

In Arabic it's Torkiya and Torky.

Besides, why do you get so upset
And in Persian it's "Tork" (Turk).

He was so upset by the Arabic and Persian language that he started calling Hezbollah "Bollah" in the other threads to 'retaliate'. Now that is childish.

Iranian use it derogatively on the internet against Azeri Turks and others. Lets not pretend otherwise. with it being used synonymously for a stupid person.

Either way,I really don't understand why hyperman gets so "offended" by it.

I already told you, it can be used pejoratively if combined with another word. But on its own it is a neutral word and commonly used by Iranians.

I don't use it positively or negatively, because it's a neutral word. Iranians can mix English and Persian words in sentences. You can't dictate how we speak, rofl.

Ok, so all good if others use simialr terms for Persians, that have negative connotations in other languages, but can be used in a neutral way in other setting.

You think you are being slick with the "plausible deniability" when you know how that term gets used against Azeri Turks in particular inside Iran.

I don't object if Turks use the Turkish word for Persians as I use the Persian word for Turks. Pretty simple stuff.

And uh...what's the term for "Persians" in your native tongue again?

How is Tork a word with a bad meaning? It does not mean bad thing in persian language.

Also In Iran, we do not accept that Azerbaijanis are Turks and they are Iranian people with Turkish language.

During the Ottoman period, they used the title "Ajam" to humiliate Iranians, which in Arabic means "someone who cannot speak properly".

The interesting point is that Arabs call all non-Arabs "Ajam", and Turks themselves are considered Ajam too.

We have a slang word in Greece that most probably comes from that: "Ajamis",probably from Turkish "ajami". We sometimes use it to describe someone who is clumsy.
