Turkish Foreign Policy and Regional Geopolitics

I feel bad for the Turkish company who sold the drones, there was a deal, turkish company was happy, Greek govt was happy, Turkish govt didn't object, but then when the news leaked, all the people on twitter started making fun of Greece and then some greeks got angry at their govt, and under peer pressure the govt cancelled the contract and said it was fake news. lol
Well it was just small commercial ones. Even Americans buy such stuff from China.

Hey I have no issue with them selling Drones to Greece, its the Greek public thats angry. Turks online are mostly smirking that Greek govt was trying to buy turkish drones. lol

Its the Greek govt that got redfaced after it became public and cancelled the contract and said it was fake news, after they ppl started getting angry about buying from Turkey. lol

Very significant development, Chat is south of Libya and west of Sudan, a Turkish presence in Chad can simultaniously support the Sudanese Army and the internationally recognized Libyan govt in Tripoli.

Very much possible to neutralize Haftar's smuggling to the RSF and vice versa as well.

It will solidify Turkish positioning in Central Africa/Sahel as well as support two key partners in Libya and Sudan, if implemented.

Also very significant Story.

Turkey really should hold trilateral meetings with Albania, United Kingdom and Turkey, the main backers of Kosovo in Europe.

This is also a significant opportunity for Turkey to fill the void and have the influence in the Balkans it has not held for 100+ years.

The United Kingdom should still be recruited for Help, Obvious Turkey is in, but the most efficient way to do with is Trilaterally, The Involvement of the UK will keep France(on paper recognizing Kosovo but really more aligned with Serbia) in Line and make Greece hesitant to try to turn this into a turkophobia/orientalist framing. The United Kingdom has historically been the most forceful supporter of Kosovo outside of Turkey.

🇧🇦 Bosnian Serb leader Milorad Dodik faces up to 5 years in prison, dismissal from office, and a 10-year ban on political activity for disrespecting decisions of the High Representative.

If convicted by the Bosnian court, he threatens to:

- Hold a referendum for Republika Srpska's separation from Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Remove Bosnia's Court and Prosecutor authority over RS territory
- Withdraw all RS representatives from Bosnia's state institutions

Europe dug it's own grave, no one to blame but themselves.

After the US betrayal of Ukraine, Turkey's importance in Europe has started to increase.

Temporary change based on the reality of Trump for the time being versus a fundamental strategic shift. Part of this being driven by the need to have the EU pay more for their own defence versus riding on the USA goodwill. Things change, but not as much as people think.

No this is seismic depending on if its actually carried out. There is no "return to normal".

Turkey’s Role in Checking Russia If Europe is serious about Ukraine, it must engage with Turkey. From the Mediterranean to the Caspian, Turkey is not just engaging in force projection—it is executing a strategic realignment, disrupting Russia’s operational calculus.

The Ankara-Moscow dynamic is a multi-theater balancing act—cooperative when convenient, combative when required, and always driven by a strategic calculus. But in Syria and Libya in particular, Turkey has dramatically exposed Russia’s vulnerabilities.

Hosting Zelenskyy helped Turkey maximize its leverage over both the East and West. First, Turkey’s strategic detachment from European affairs helps Ankara strengthen its position with Moscow, as it views in this regard Turkey as an independent player.

Second, Turkey’s military autonomy, particularly in drone warfare and arms production, aligns with President Donald Trump’s push for self-reliance within NATO. The president openly praised Turkey after its military successes in Syria.

Third, despite its dealings with Moscow, Turkey remains one of Ukraine’s strongest backers, steadfast in defending Kyiv’s territorial integrity & countering Russian expansionism (Turkey’s actions in Syria, Libya, across Africa, Caucasus, where Moscow is)
