Why Secularism will Worsen Pakistan’s security situation

Pakistan’s “terrorism” problem is to do with ethno-nationalism rather than religion.

Where theocratic tendencies has been corrosive are in the social and employment spheres. Result: low literacy and Labour participation amongst women.

Religion is not a uniting force - especially in Islam - that theory has been tested to destruction (literally).
Only religion can make Pakistan a strong force, bring unity and Brotherhood. Our rulers haven't got a clue about religion and people here pointing fingers at religion, the Islamic extremism is funded by foreign nations, our elite recieved billions to close their eyes.

The issue Pakistan faces is not rocket science. You have Pashtun separatism and Baloch separatism. These aren't actually religious in nature but ethnic, the fundamental problem is ethnicity.

On top of this, you guys want to double down on the exact same strategy which destroyed your entire country. You radicalised your entire society, you destroyed its entire fabric, creates masses of zombies, and you don't even have a proper sense of identity.

Ironically you guys are unable to see the level of damage it has done. This exact reliance on religion to somehow mould your country created TLP masses, Taliban sympathisers, mullahs, and extremists. And it also created an entire generation with no sense of identity apart from 'muh muslim ummah' ridden with an inferiority complex. They have zero understanding of geopolitics and in fact they consider nationalism or basic logic to literally be the greatest evil or fitnah.

Pakistan is actually the perfect example proving why Turkey's Ataturk was completely correct.
Islam encourages people to look past ethnicities, race, tribes, sects, class, baradarism, when has our state and rulers ever promoted this? instead they use these to divide and rule us. Attaturk was incorrect, he promoted extreme secularism, forced people to leave Islam, banned basic religious duties. Turkey is also facing Kurdish rebellion, which is not religous but secular people.

Why are you even bothering preaching to the choir ?

Afaic, Musalmans are already the most conservative group just about anywhere on earth.

Conservative is not enough, you have to be smart about it

Their is a difference between blind subservience and being a buddu and actually understanding WHY? we need to do the things we do to preserve ourselves and our families

Like I said 40 years ago we had no answer to why we should be conservative and faithful to our values beyond, "it's our religion"

But in 2025 you can point out how fcuked up things are getting in this world, the levels of debauchery and delusions, and broken familiar and people unable to understand why and how their EXPERIENCES and actions have led to this mental inability to maintain relationships and maintain families

No it didn't, it strengthened it, Islam is still alive and commonly practiced there. They removed jahil extremist elements that were holding it back and that's why Turkey is the only non-oil Muslim nation with a $10k+ GDP per capita, industry and technology

People in this thread think that calling out Pakistan's manipulation of Islam is an anti-religion stance, but if they knew the extent of the damage it had on society in large parts back home they'd agree. It has destroyed their sense of identity, it has destroyed their rationality, and they are zombies, the masses literally see national interests as a 'fitnah', they see geopolitics as a 'fitnah', they've been cucked to do 'we ij all sem' with everyone.
Not correct. Majority of Pakistanis don't even follow religion, the corruption, lies, deception, bribery, killing, not paying tax, character assassination is not religious culture. The points you made are due to jalahat and lack of education which is the right education to build up a effective society.

I'm sure if you had more interaction with the masses back home you'd end up agreeing with me but Pakistan has weaponised religion in a way that has backfired and mentally destroyed the masses. This isn't an anti-religion stance but it's a stance calling for reform.

You say to preserve cultural or national identity but the zombies there have done none of that, instead they used religion to destroy it, their identity is just "we wuz ummah all muslim sar no difference sem2sem" their understanding of geopolitics, and social/national relations is regressive, to be a beghairat and cuck themselves.

Pretty much identityless zombie extremists who consider nationalism or national interests to be an evil thing. They literally think being a cuck for other countries and ethnicties is Islam and individual identity or interests is bad...
Majority of the religious people who cause fitna and killings are funded by foreign nations, why doesn't our state and rulers stop this? Everyone gets a cut to look the other way.

Many of those problems will remain and persist, Kitna bhi conservative hona hai, ho jao !

It's the times we live in, ab baba Adam k zamaney k rules ni chalte.

Gotta move with the times, brozullah.

Religion is not prohibited in China.
China only prohibits religious involvement in political activities.
Islam is very similar to this, it allows to be religious and be involved in politics but today the issue is many political parties use religion as a political weapon, they use it for propaganda, to play with people hearts and minds. Most of people don't even understand how they are being fooled. For example the secular rulers lie and claim once in power we will bring jobs and wealth, even though they know it will not happen, the religious manipulators say vote for us, vote for religion and you will get jobs and development, but they too know it will not happen. Both are the same.

Some saying Pakistan needs Islam. Which Islam? The Wahhabi Islam? The Deobandi Islam? The Al-Hadees Islam? The Bralve Islam? The Twelver Shia Islam? The Fiver Shia Islam? Ismailia? One of the various Sufi sects?

I can tell you right now, with how divided Pakistan is along sect lines, any group's interpretations being imposed will cause the others to fight back.

You have no idea what you're asking.

Also, secularism doesn't mean the absence of religion, or atheism. It's less French secularism thats being proposed, and more Canadian secularism Pakistan needs, where religious beliefs are respected and even celebrated, instead of being shunned and hidden away.

Pakistan is one of the few countries in the world that, while having a mandatory muslim identity, cannot choose to play favorites, thus a custom form of secularism is needed.
Pakistan had the majority sunni sufi population, with shia forming the 2nd majority, since the 80s billions have been pumped in to the media and maddrassas to promote new sects, people opposed this but noone cared due to the funding, now these same new sects are causing fitna and killings and some people are blaming Islam on this. Why don't the Muslim learn the Islamic history, the historical Islam has been here for 1000 years, the Islamic culture, values, art, fiqh has already been here but we want to follow foreign funded sects and then complain. The people who misuse religion do it for money, strict action should be taken against them but then again noone points fingers at the secular ruling elite for their corruption.

The westerners/ Zionist bastards causing all these dramay in our society since funding CIA bhatta Zia-ul-Fuqq harami, we never had religious strife in our ancient society.

You go to Taxila there is Zoroastrian fire temple next to hindu temple in a Buddhist city.

Kamal hae no?

What went wrong?
Spot on. We are in this situation due to leaving the historical Islam which made us a great power. Instead we want to follow what the petrodollar says, then we complain. The biggest issue is our ruling elite, the policy makers haven't got a clue about Islam.

The whole point of Islam is that it's a CONSTANT through time and society, its not supposed to bend to the whims and desires of society and man,

Society and man is supposed to bend to the will Of God ie Islam

Otherwise what you have is every time society changes it bends religion to fit it's own desires and everything is legitimate

People and society do that with Islam as well, we are not immune we have plenty of jahilat that should never happen, but that's where the struggle begins

With ALL his post, actually.
It is amazing to find people afflicted with a social distortion thinking that the way out is more of the same.
Religion and religious belief is fine in personal life, dragging it into governance is a fatal error.
Pakistan has never been ruled by Islamic teachings, they are in our constitution but rulers never implement or follow it. We do have the blasphemy law which is normally highlighted in the media but the secular elite do it on purpose to offend the religous people, they want a reaction so they can go running to their western masters to show them how religious people are about to finish them off.

Majority of the religious people who cause fitna and killings are funded by foreign nations, why doesn't our state and rulers stop this? Everyone gets a cut to look the other way.
Our leadership is a bunch of traitors. Zia ul Huq started this trend of selling our ghareeb for money and pittin them against each other like animals.

It’s the ultimate betrayal of trust.

Our society never had sectarianism nor violence and now it’s business as usual.

They’ve allowed this to happen by listening to the west and selling out our own people.

Absolute disgrace.

Religion is a business now in our country.

Logic dictates that the Quran should be the only source of national religious law. Sectarian beliefs are individual, but inciting sectarian hatred should be illegal.
Basic Islamic teachings are agreed upon by all sects and groups. The rest the state doesn't even need to implement it. In our constitution it states anyone who commits major sins, like drinking, gambling, bribery, lies, corruption etc cannot be part of the parliament but majority of our parliament is full of dacoits and mafias, so according to Pakistan law the parliament is illegitimate. This is ignored by our rulers and society.

You'd have Al-hadees and Wahhabis calling you a heretic, because for them ignoring the Hadith is blasphemy.
When it comes to majority Islamic law etc such as corruption, bribery, women rights, animal rights, children rights majority of sects agree on it. The state doesn't need to teach you how to pray salah, it's the job of the individual. In the Islamic states some people used to drink alcohol in their homes, the state had an issue with it and the people claimed its our privacy and none of your business, the people actually won the case. As long as basic Islamic teachings are implements noone will have an issue. Our rulers don't want this, otherwise everyone in the parliament will be in jails.

Gents check da news trump sahb and satanyahu preparing to launch a massive attack on Irani nuke facilities.

If Iran falls it will totally destabilize our western front and tear us apart as a nation.

We will turn into another Syria or Iraq in no time.

There is no shortage of jahil mercenary CIA jihadists to do what’s been done to Syria Libya or Iraq.

Hard to believe nobody sees how dangerous the situation is becoming daily on our western front.

Al-Qaeda/ ISIS and ten other foreign funded terrorist groups are active throughout the Middle East and Central Asia.

If Iran falls they will move into our region and cripple whatever little bit we got left functioning in our country.
