full of justification for basically complete inferior force in case of war with jews, egypt could have eased lot of its air force problems if only made strategic decision to go for JF17 as this plane decade ago and now it is more capable then all what they have in inventory but generals need to grease pockets with shiny toys.
Not all Deep States, in sync with their Deep Nations, are ready to "Eat grass but have the BOMB" mindset and execution pattern. And, for that they need to make Kaffara and offer Kurban on a 24/7 basis....

@Deino They say where there is smoke, there is fire. Now all these rumors originated from China about possibly a new customer for the J10.

I think there are enough credible sources to refute it being Egypt, so who could it be? Pakistan, Sudan, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, or...? What do you think?

Actually I don‘t know and I‘m not even sure, if indeed all these rumours came from Chinese posts? At least those regarding Egypt came AFAIR from ME or even Egyptian „sources“.

Otherwise, I must admit it‘s all very much confusing: We haven‘t seen many J-10Cs at CAC recently - at least not that many to think they are for an ongoing export deal - and in fact NONE yet at Anshun (GAIC factory), which allegedly should build them. In fact we heven‘t seen a single J-10C there yet.

As such any such claims „they are already built“, „will be delivered soo or are already sent“ do not fit to any observed activity at either CAC or GAIC. @Michael hopefully corrects me if I‘m wrong.

On the other side rumours are indeed getting more and more concrete and even credible Weibo posters like Orca & Otter I think at least mentioned this is deal is indeed true.
So the question is, which countries? … my bet indeed goes to Egypt, maybe Sudan, that was mentioned even before Egypt but my gut feeling tells me it will be a country not on our list at the moment.

Bangladeshi is another option … I think we need to be patient!

First of all. I must make one thing clear. According to Chinese law, rumour-mongering on the Internet is a violation of the law, especially when it involves military rumours, which is a more serious offence. If the impact of a rumor reaches a certain level, the rumor-monger is sent to prison. If the rumor causes financial losses, the rumor-monger will be sent to prison and will have to pay compensation for the financial losses. Chinese-language social media usually reposts news from English-language media or official Chinese media. The consequences of creating native rumors about the military are very serious.

Secondly. Chinese official media usually do not release vague information such as “may, might, will”.
So far, the Chinese official media has never made any comments on the following events:
1. Any news of J-10CE being sold to any other country. There is no official Chinese comment or news about the rumored target customers (Bangladesh, Iran, Egypt, Sudan, etc.). ------ (except for the news that PAF has purchased J-10CE).
2. Any news about PAF's purchase of J-35. Including other possible customers, there is no official comment or news from China.

Finally. The original source of all relevant news is from the internal media or Twitter rumors of the relevant countries, not from China.

Chinese law, there are relevant provisions. Recently, a number of Chinese governmental departments jointly issued the Measures for the Administration of Military Information Dissemination on the Internet, which further strengthens the management of information involving the military on the Internet.
This is the full Chinese version. If you are interested, you can translate it yourself.

You're absolutely right, there really hasn't been any news about it lately.

Except, there is one particular phenomenon. the official accounts of PLA and AVIC on Weibo have been posting photos of the J-10C a lot lately, but without any other description. But that's all.

Maybe a newer more potent version is about to be revealed?

The J-10C has no value for a major version upgrade.

The J-10 series is the lowest end of the PLAAF's active main fighters. The PLAAF prefers twin engine fighters. In the past, PLAAF had no other choice but to accept the J-10 series. Now, they have many better choices.
The J-10C electronic warfare version was revealed a long time ago. However, we have not seen any photos of it officially in service. This suggests that it is technically mature and feasible, but may not quite fit PLAAF's tactical needs. There is a possibility that it could be converted into a J-10CE/EW version for export in the future.

If a large foreign customer buys hundreds of J-10CEs at a time, it is possible that CAC could offer a significantly upgraded version to the customer alone. It aerodynamic layout can be moderately modified.
But. AVIC currently does not have such a customer. Large customers with money would prefer to buy J-35 rather than J-10CE.

====================

This period of the year is when China holds the National People's Congress (NPC). One of the key agenda items of the meeting is the consideration of the defense budget.
Various PLA organizations usually release a lot of photos of outdated and old weaponry during this period. ------Their purpose? LOL.

Pakistan wont stop at 20, do with that what you will. I expect more to come. I also suspect there will need to be some ironing out of issues before more come

Right! Some members had already hinted at a follow up order some time back.
With reference to PAF - I wonder what the new modifications will be...?
