Sadly this is the problem. Protests now are just phus! Do you like to people watch bahi?

It is a hobby of mine, sometimes I can just sit for hours and observe people, something that I undoubtedly picked up due to my line of work. But around four maybe five months ago, I was on Peshawar road there to pick someone up from the local bus Adda.

I parked up and just sat next to the pan walla, observing people. Everyone I saw wore this defeated look on their face, traffic key hajoom mey zombies ke taran bas coming and going, the old noisy crazy honking of Peshawar Road was replaced with a bizarre mundane silence, broken only by the passing noise of vehicles.

This observation was very telling. The people feel defeated, they feel disenfranchised and feel they have no agency...

This can work two ways, it can carry on as is, but if you look just beneath the surface, this sort of apathy is like that of a slumbering volcano, every now and then it farts sulphuric fumes, spits out some lava to relieve the pressure... But eventually you know that thing is going to go boom!

Sooner or later that is going to happen boss. Abductions threats and extortions will work but not for long InshaAllah.

Oh I totally agree. The disconnect between the people and the state is shocking.

You can never progress as a country when your own population has no confidence, or interest in what you do or don't do. People are fed up.

The only solution is for Punjab to be divided into small provinces. This Ram Gali product is not capable enough. Asim Munir should marry Mariam and leave Pakistan alone ..go for the long honeymoon ...

Agreed. If not that atleast South Punjab deserves to be its own province. The development difference is too stark between North/Central and South. Rajanpur Muzzafargarh Vehari looks like Sub Saharan Africa

Issue is can we afford expansion of already bloated bureaucracy for that. More provinces mean more CMs and more cabinet members.

Meanwhile, 17% of respondents felt that government performance had declined.

In comparison with the previous PTI-led government, 53% of those surveyed stated that public service and governance standards had improved under Maryam Nawaz’s leadership. Respondents cited advancements in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and the Clean Punjab initiative as among her most notable achievements.

The survey also measured sector-wise improvements, with respondents reporting progress in education (15%), healthcare (14%), roads and infrastructure development (11%), and cleanliness (11%). Additionally, 13% of respondents called for immediate attention to employment and healthcare, while 12% urged stronger efforts to curb inflation.

I think you guys are letting yourselves get blindsided. I have noticed PTI rhetoric becoming increasingly extremist and incoherent. They are missing IK's steer and their ranks are full of dross.

As far as Maryam is concered as CM of Punjab, she is doing a great job and there is no denying that.

Compare Peshawar and KPK and you will have your answer.
