But bringing the hammer down would never solve the insurgency. Lack of state writ and law and order provides space for insurgents to operate. They haven't done their job in last 7 decades. Its still not too late, most people are patriots but stuck in a vicious cycle.

Stop blaming common folk. Everyone wants to live in peace and enjoy their life. State needs to do its job which it isn't, start by calling them out.

What do you expect the Baloch to do? Govt should establish its presence and establish its confidence in people so they can help authorities in weeding out miscreants.

I am all for free and fair elections, but that won't have any impact on the security situation in Baluchistan. What we are witnessing in Baluchistan is of a different magnitude with external actors involved. Unless you don't tackle the external forces, who aid the BLA there won't be tangible progress. Afghanistan must be punished in some shape or form..

The benefit of free and fair elections is we need people mandated government who have the authority to talk to the balochi people and rebels, not unelected, those like Mohsin Naqvi talking all big about giving danda but have no solution to this problem. The people government must have the power to prosecute those who caused grievances. Brother it's always external, at times it's Iran, then Afghanistan government during Hamid Karzai time, then India, now Afghan Taliban government but never internal issues, that's what the rulers claim.
