It's probably just a goodwill gesture, and nothing is concrete yet.

And has no logic considering Brazil already operates Gripen - and is generally a western bloc operator.

It is likely Pakistan ends up buying a few things and Brazil maybe some token items.

I suspect Brazil could be hedging its bets re: the Indian market by watering the field a little on the Pakistani side. I'm sure the PAF would show some interest in the Embraer C390, for example, if the OEM offered it and was willing to conduct tests in Pakistan. However, until the Indian transport bid comes to pass (either via an order or the Indians just shelving plans), they can't make that push.
