Why you changed your tone here? I just politely ask you to provided the evidence that "most countries" recognize Taiwan a independent country. Or your nickname is " most countries" and you were just talking about yourself?

Let's keep a civil tone and engage in facts based discussion, I already provided proof that most countries don't recognize Taiwan as a country, would you please provide your proof to counter mine?

What proof you gave to me? I'm out of here from this endless debate and do believe what you want

It was about a year ago perhaps when former US SoS Antony Blinken acknowledged the One China" policy.
Can you please give me a source/backup sir? And if USA acknowledged One China policy then why USA selling its latest weapons to Taiwan? Please explain if USA acknowledged Taiwan as a part of China then why USN carrier battle groups sailing through Taiwan strait and South China Sea time to time?

Was a *little* off in my dates:

Regarding the US CBGs sailing through the Taiwan Strait; simple; Freedom of Navigation. Would be no different if the Russian Navy sailed through the English Channel or the Straits of Bosporous.

The US has long sold weapons to Taiwan per the obligations under the Taiwan Relations Act regardless of the One China policy.

Isn't that's double standard policy by USA

And don't compare USN with Russian Navy please do tell me how many times Russian Navy crossed English Channel and straits of bosphorus in recent years?

In your second link balkin said USA consider Taiwan as a country

Send to the museum?
What exactly is this statement based on...?

The F-16's are proven in combat & the latest ones with AESA are pretty deadly.

Are they 5th Gen? No.

But..., in its Class - which the latest ones would be 4.5 Gen, its certainly better than most.

I'd pick the Block 70 over the J-10C anyday, because the Viper is a proven beast in various Air-to-Air combats & Air-to-Ground too.
F16s are outdated aircrafts. I remember Taiwan already use old Mirage2000s 🕳️
Like plenty of other jets, the F-16 has gone through various upgrades.

And perhaps you should read up on the Block 70. Do Not assume that the Rafale can easily take out the Viper.

The earlier F-16's may be 4th Gen, but the latest variant falls in the 4.5 Gen category.

Good deal. Taiwan is a independant nation so they can buy what they want, i dont know why the Chinese here are getting mad.

Taiwan wasnt a Chinese island before to begin with. Han-chinese pirates conquered Taiwan from the Dutch colonists and after that they just imported Han-chinese from the mainland to the island and oppressed the natives, the Austronesians.

Taiwan has not 1 millimeter or 1 drop of Chinese history so the claims of the Han-chinese imperialists are false. Its like Netanyahu claiming Gaza for the Israeli people, no difference.

First of all, you need to understand what the "One China" policy means from the US diplomatic point of view. The USA ceased to recognize the Republic of China as the government of China when relations with the People's Republic of China were normalized in 1979.

Hence, Taiwan is viewed, albeit unofficially from the US, as a sovereign nation. The US won't intervene (according to the agreements) in the event of a Chinese attempt to seize Taiwan but there is no prevention on the sales of arms to the Taiwanese.
