the question is what they are willing to do about it. and my contention is that the answer is 'not very much' although they are better placed than Iran to rival Israel in Syria given they border Syria and have a professional and competent air force

believe me if turkey one day decides to fight against Israel in any way, rather than sending them oil and helping them totally destroy syria, I will not be on the fence about supporting turkey. unlike some Arabs who support Israel against Arabs they dislike (Hezbollah, Ansarallah, Assad, etc), the biggest and common enemy of everyone should always be Israel

This is a long play, as you are seeing weapons, armored vehicles and training are to be provided for. As well there is the airbase in Menagh being set up, and then other base will be set up and more and more in a structured way to "island hop" and create a consolidated infrastructure.
You should also note that whatever Damascus has asked for Turkey has provided so far, or is working on providing it.
This is going to be something thats not solved in a few days or weeks, this is a long term play one that will take much longer. The situation has a lot of moving parts. Idk why you concentrate your efforts on bashing Turkey, shouldn't you be worried more about the supposed "May deadline" from Trump and the bombers being massed at Diego Garcia. Almost half the B2 Bomber fleet is massed on that island. Or shouldn't you worry about Yemen, where your supposed "resistance partner" is getting attacked. But all day you spend on attacking Turkey. its misguided and wasted effort, Turkey is not your enemy.

There is always diplomacy before a war. Russia didnt declare war on Turkey after they shot a Russian jet out of the skies. Germany had send 9 times a peace proposal to England before they started the Battle of Brittain.
Turkey needs a deal with Syria as quick as it can and Israël knows this. Both are proxy-ing and winning time.
If Turkey reaches a deal to take over the airports and airbases, then good luck with bombing it. There would be no reason anymore for the IAF to be there if the TAF controls the Syrian airspace.
Netanyahu knows this very well and thats why they are sending “messages” to Turkey with bombing of already destroyed runaways and bases.
Turkey never acts without a plan, lets hope the plan is a pathway to kick Israel out of Syria and not just a list of things.
Turkey will not stop her efforts after yesterdays bombing raids. Lets see how far Netanyahu can go on with this.
