JF-17 - Updates, News & Discussion

I suspect Brazil could be hedging its bets re: the Indian market by watering the field a little on the Pakistani side. I'm sure the PAF would show some interest in the Embraer C390, for example, if the OEM offered it and was willing to conduct tests in Pakistan. However, until the Indian transport bid comes to pass (either via an order or the Indians just shelving plans), they can't make that push.
I think we’re reading too much into a meeting focused on land and projectile related procurement. Someone just mentioned JF-17 as part of “we would like to offer you” when they may not be even actively interested or in the market for it is just blown over here.

The Tejas however is more a natural companion to the Gripen than the JF-17 due to 404 core commonality even if a potential overlap of capabilities.

No - because it is a poor analogy here. Personal bias has little impact on objective reality of this situation.

I am not expecting you to understand.

Rule number 1, you cant market/sell a product through those who have no clue about the product.

They are not there to market the JF-17. It's just a side item as a goodwill gesture. The JF-17 is simply not for the Brazilian Air Force.

The IAF has been operating, I think 3 or 4 of those AEW&C based on the ERJ-145 by Embraer.

Just earlier this year, Embraer offered to set up Production in India for the C390, if the IAF would consider placing an order. I doubt the offer for Production be possible if the IAF were to place a similar (small) order as they did for the R-99 (ERJ-145).

Goodwill gesture = marketing. Whatever these lots were selling or buying, JF17 would be the last item to be put forth as "goodwill gesture", its not like a bloody phone, buy one get one half price, infact JF is many folds expensive to whatever they are selling or buying. Someone suggested Pakistan is pitching JF17, if that was the case, common sense would dictate that relevant personal would be delivering presentations.

its not a pitch. Its more likely a case of "oh btw we have planes if you wanna buy them."

Dear I think you're taking this a bit too seriously. I doubt the meeting was actually about the JF-17. In any case, you're entitled to your opinion, and I respect that. Perhaps we can agree to disagree and not prolong this discussion unnecessarily.

Based on what? How do we expect you to understand it?
You’re giving blanket statements on people whom you have zero idea on for statements you have zero idea on for context you have zero idea on, purely because you are one extreme of the anti army mindset versus the Army urf sahaba r karam mindset of the other spectrum.

There are doofus that go into such delegations as well as general knowledge types and occasionally very competent people. To bucket everything just because your dear nabi e waqt is no longer the favorite of this rotten system is pure unobjective whataboutism and nothing else.

They’re going with the 320 for their next Netra batch. The latest sub batch of Netra’s were being rumored to have been tested(rather in limited fashion due to position of radar) to track movement of ground assets in Pakistan to some success as well so a possible future could be that. Either way, they own the IP - can take it wherever they want.

For Pakistan the issue isn’t the 390 but its extensive C-130 infrastructure which is “wasted” if you go with a different platform.

Based on the stupidity you have displayed and getting into politics back home which is completely irrelevant to the points raised by myself.

Without wasting my time, go back and read the thread.
