China hits back at Canada with fresh agriculture tariffs

Maybe not as bad as in late Soviet Union collapsing in the end, but prices are sure going to hike to the roof, and they will be angry.

Retailers like Walmart/Homedepot/Costco have 70% of goods coming from China, and they cannot find substitution elsewhere.

And those substitutions from Vietnam and Mexico are just de factor token export of China.

China always controls the whole supply chain, and can easily stifle the US consumers during the impeccable timing.

China has also effectively cut off US capital and patents. Just imagine that China will use all US patents for free.

Three main reasons why China was soft during Trump's first term.

- unprepared
- overestimated the US
- didn't yet create its own supply chain of semiconductor

Our attitude has been clear. Whether it is a trade war, or a hot war, any war we will fight to the end. The United States cannot win now, and it will lose everything this time.
China's won the battle long ago.......I mean there's no questioning this anymore. Totally obvious to every man n his dog now.

The west (collective) simply can't compete no?

Now.......China's gotta take it eeeeezy........just be merciful on da fools......

Eeeeeeezy does it bro.........eeeeezy.

it has been predicted before that India will become the country most affected by AI since its service sector are filled with entry level jobs such as coding, customer service, etc

it's part of the reason why global investors are pulling out their money from Indian stock market
theys fukked bro........just like da US........its happening!

EU's long fukked!.......these guys are a joke in front of China. Everyone knows now......

I'm just lost fo words......

Yes, it is.

If you see what USA is developing, connecting it to Trump policy, there's indication that USA is going to bring back manufacturing, but the factory was run by AI and robots.

When the time arrived, poor developing countries will be useless. They will be downgraded to just raw material providers.

The chance for developing countries to climb the ladder, to be developed is getting much smaller. As developed countries doesn't need cheap labors anymore, because AI and robots can do it. There will be no investment from developed countries anymore. Developing countries will stuck in poverty.

The only hope for developing countries is the kindness of developed countries to share the technology so developing countries can become developed countries as well in just one night.
Maybe for you.......not for China, Russia or Iran........

All three powering ahead and BRICS coming along down da road. BRICS GDP already larger than the combined west no?

Rest of yous will have choice to make......

Indian companies are already moving towards AI based services and are holding the largest AI talent out side China.. Given almost imposibility of Chinese AI companies expanding outside of their domestic market, it's always going to India who will lead AI service and adoption..

What a dream.

Nothing breaking, as expected...
PS: I really hate these kind of MAGA and Jai hind post title.
So people are not supposed to post any news from China no matter how big or important because they are sort of expected by you ? What nonsense.

Donald Trump says he hopes to continue working in good faith with China

In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated, “My Administration has been working very hard on a Deal to SAVE TIKTOK, and we have made tremendous progress.

“The Deal requires more work to ensure all necessary approvals are signed, which is why I am signing an Executive Order to keep TikTok up and running for an additional 75 days,” he continued.

“We hope to continue working in Good Faith with China, who I understand are not very happy about our Reciprocal Tariffs (Necessary for Fair and Balanced Trade between China and the U.S.A.!).

“This proves that Tariffs are the most powerful economic tool, and very important to our National Security! We do not want TikTok to 'go dark.' We look forward to working with TikTok and China to close the Deal. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

This week it was revealed that the US had struck a deal with China over the social media giant, only for it to collapse after Trump announced his controversial tariffs, causing the company to back out.

The agreement between the US and TikTok had won approval from existing investors, new investors, ByteDance, and the US government.

Meanwhile, the Chinese embassy in Washington DC said it "opposed practices that violate the basic principles of the market economy" in a statement.

The powerhouse country faces a 54% aggregate tariff on goods imported into the US and has retaliated with 34% in counter-tariffs.

On Friday, ByteDance, who owns TikTok, said they had been discussing the fate of the platform with the Trump administration.

"We are still in talks with the US government, but no agreement has been reached and the two sides still have differences on many key issues," a spokesperson said.

"There are key matters to be resolved. Any agreement will be subject to approval under Chinese law.”

The US holds more TikTok users than any other country, with the platform currently attracting around 1.12 billion active users worldwide.

The US, Indonesia and Brazil are the world's top TikTok users. The United States stands at 135.79 million users, Indonesia with 107.7 million users and Brazil with 91.75 million users.

China is not a country that can be blackmailed by US.
