China hits back at Canada with fresh agriculture tariffs

Call it what ever you like. It was American money and technology that made China what it is today.

Now China is challenging them on their own turf. Fine then.
Nonsense, most foreign investments in mainland China in the past decades since 1980s were coming from HK, Taiwan and Singapore, not US and Europe. Know the facts before you talk.

It is ridiculous to see Trump administration figures talk and complain about the US buying cars from other countries and Europe and Japan not buying American cars.

Why should people be forced to buy things that they don't want? Even Americans are angry about the terrible quality and the prices of vehicles we have here. Why should Europeans and Japanese be forced to buy an overpriced F-150 that doesn't even fit their streets, guzzles up gas and has no benefit for their lifestyle?

The MAGA idiots think that manufacturers will set up manufacturing units in the U.S at the cost of hundreds of millions if not billions
Train U.S workers, pay them a premium salary/wage, pay insurance and higher power and fuel costs, alongside higher healthcare, holiday sickness and maternity pay to produce products at a much higher cost

When the same products can be purchased from China and other countries for a fraction

The U.S is revealing what kind of threat it is to the world and their will be a backlash

Oh the coping in here delicious. Chyna imports a lot of food products because they can't feed their population on their own... get what I'm saying? Lets see what happens when their soybean imports are cut in half and other food products.

Not to mention computer case and new Sofas - along with any new aircraft models to add to my collection.

How many threads you want about these tariffs? OP quick to complains and cry and report - yet does the same himself.
Bro I know you Americans like to get your own way - here on PDF we try apply the same rules for all.

Bingo!

And I don't know how someone say China should thanks USA.

For what?

In the last decades, I never see USA said anything positive about China.

It's USA who should say thank you to China for bringing a lot of profit for USA companies, making USA stock market all-time high, and for supporting USD.

USA consumers should pay more for premium brands.

Should I suggest USA consumers wear less quality clothing?

I'm not that evil.

China is in panic and “advising” companies not to move their factories from China to Vietnam.

I thought China was super and great and invinsible and not afraid for the tarrifs?

Lol US has been there done it all.

It was Americans who taught the Chinese on how build these things that American people like and so that they can buy them for Cheap.

Do you think, if they can teach the Chinese what to build and how to build it, they can do it themselves or if need be outsource it to another country.
It was the Iraqis ( Babylonian) who invented wheel , who can beat the Iraqis in vehicles manufacturing ?.......it was Chinese who invented gun powder, who can beat them in making guns ?........ Egyptian built pyramids, who can beat them in constructing skyscrapers ?.........

Well, before I left the US and permanently settle in Australia, I told some of my friend, my army buddies that you guys are going to appreciate and miss George Bush very soon, it was early 2010s (sometime before I left in 2012) and back then Bush had probably the worse rating ever of any US President and everyone from the left and right are piling on his mishandling Iraq War and Afghanistan.

It's no secret why I left the US, I said it a thousand time here, to @Starlord to other member as well, left because this is what I foresee this when I look thru the second Obama administration, US is going to constantly being pull into extreme left (when Obama was in because people are sick of Bush) and then extreme right (when Trump was in the first time around because people are sick of Obama) then Biden (again, extreme Left) and then extremely right again (Trump now) and I have a very suspicious feeling after Trump, if he didn't change or suspend the constitution, we will be pull to even further left after Trump, stick around 2026 and 2028 to find out.

The issue here I have problem is, if and when this country is like being an overloaded truck carrying a double load trying to correct itself in the highway, every time it is going to be people who suffered because you are going to push the traffic aside (we being the traffic), the government will be in bicker mode and nothing will get done, and each time we will have a more draconian politician imposing something that the other side don't want and specifically make them suffer, I mean do you think the Dem will forget about this? No, when they come back in power, they are going to do what Trump did, and suppress the right as they suppress the left now, and in the end, this is going to ended up like a rubber band where each side is going to do what the other guys did to them before, and then some, until the society cannot take it, and the rubber band break apart.

This is going to be like ping pong for the next couple of decades, that's why I left, and I don't know if this is the hole in your stomach. This is certainly mine.
Not ignore to what you said, but how many time I will switch my residence? which country has the moral ground to live ? Australia has their own racists and neo nazi's, UK is complicit in war , going back to Pakistan will serve what purpose ? Middle East? its only matter of time before American war bone come all over (pun intended). The whole world is a nasty place, yeah maybe countries like Norway or NZ but going there is close to impossible.
I took a vacation to St Augustine for some peaceful times and it help for sure, but as soon as I came back and open news its all the same shit show.

So ? What panic ? That's a sensible decision considering Vietnam also has very high tariffs from US now.

I am from the Netherlands and China is like the Netherlands: solely focussing on exports and completely identifying herself as a export-specialist (which they have the right to) because Chinese are like Dutchmen true entrepreneurs and trader-mindset. Only difference: China is exporting what they locally produce, and the Netherlands are exporting what they import from other countries.

Thats why the tarrifs will hurt China (and the Netherlands) more than it will hurt the US.

Products from China will be more expensive for the average American. So what? That is the whole idea behind the tarrifs.

The US need to reduce imports anyway and cant continue on this route, otherwise they will be bankrupt with their negative trade balance. The local Americans will now be forced to buy more homegrown products and American and non-American companies will be forced to build factories in the US to avoid tarrifs.

What will the US lose? Ali Express? It’s a big country of 370 million people with the greatest brands and multinationals. They had shitty trade balances with almost every country on earth. With these tarrifs they can reduce all the imports.

But China will lose their biggest customer. Good luck with selling the same amount of stuff to other nations that you normally exported to the US. Nobody can replace your biggest customer, not even Europe and Russia combined.

What is the digital yuan actually backed by? Gold, silver, or is it just supported by the Chinese government like other fiat currencies? Let's say we begin trading more with China using the digital yuan. How would we continue earning enough US dollars, especially since we still need them to buy machinery and advanced equipment from the US and its allies? And even if we do shift to buying equipment from China instead, would that mean we have to follow different technical standards? Could that limit our ability to connect or integrate with systems used by the US and its allies?
