For the PAF, the appeal of the C-390 will be more in line with replacing the IL-78.

It's not a direct one-to-one thing, but the top unique selling propositions of the C-390 is that it's an economical logistics driver.

So, the C-390 can actually free up the C-130s from the routine logistics work, preserving them for things like tactical airlifting, special ops, hot-and-high ops, etc.

The C-390 can also double as a tanker, so it retains that dual-role value of the IL-78s, while potentially being cheaper to operate in the long-run (thanks to it using A320 engines, basically).

However, the Hercs will stay; IMO, the PAF will keep seeking used C-130Hs as other countries retire them, the latest one being Sweden, IIRC.

Only possibility is Embraer's weapons systems for export customers of JF-17 & nothing more.
 
Gentlemen please tolerate each other and please note no details of agreement is released in public only thing which we know from news channels is that agreement was signed by Defense minister of Brasil and Secretary of Defence Production of Pakistan.

Many people on social media speculated many things from different domains like from sea sultan project to the possible coloration in BVR and WVR A2A missiles and what not.

Offer of JF-17 to Brasil was also an speculation by social media accounts nothing more, but in my opinion this particular speculation related to JF-17 is weak due to many many factors.
 
KC-390 seems like a wonderful platform for Pakistan
Will certainly solve issue of air to air refuel plane beyond the Ilyushin
Specially since Ukraine I doubt is able to service the Ilyushin for foreign customers as they have war with Russia

Would have been nice if plane had a easy unload like C130

Also possibility of JF17 being part of Brazil Airforce , Brazil have a requirement to build up their regional air force as they have vast resources to protect , the famous Amazon River runs thru Brazil and Amazon Forest , lung of planet earth

Could be both , will await more formal details in future

I always thought Pakistan need to expand their trade foot print with South American nations and Africa

Those are absolutely relevant based on posting history by you and absolute nonsense you posted. I suggest reading well beyond the thread - removing your issues with the current setup - and then commenting. Otherwise you’re just a burnt PTI supporter spouting stupidity everywhere.

It is always speculation - and any comments regarding the calibre of everyone present in the delegation without knowing any context is only proof of ignorant bias of the individual and NOTHING more.
 
Would imagine Brazil would have need for 100-160 Units for their Regional Deterrence

What could be a reasonable first order?

36 Units
45 Units
85 Units
90 Units

Would be surprised if the Deal is less then 36 Units, because Brazil's Land Territory is quite large

No they are not. Lets not kid ourselves here. If they need more units, they will buy more Gripen-E's, a platform they are heavily invested in already and customised to their requirements.

That would make more sense then the JF17

The only way the JF17 would make sense is if they had no grippens and they wanted a platform outside of the usual western control

And second, if they wanted a platform they could integrate their own weapons onto

The second point is the only rational reason they would want the JF17, otherwise they would just add more grippens
 
Brazil have a local production line for the Gripen E fighter jet.
  1. Partnership:The production line is a result of a partnership between the Swedish manufacturer Saab and the Brazilian aerospace company Embraer.

  2. Location:The final assembly line is located at Embraer's facility in Gavião Peixoto, São Paulo state.

  3. Scope:This facility is responsible for the final assembly of a significant portion of the Gripen E jets ordered by the Brazilian Air Force (known locally as the F-39 Gripen). It includes structural assembly, installation of systems, final assembly, and flight testing.

  4. Technology Transfer:The establishment of this production line is a core part of the technology transfer agreement between Saab and Brazil, enabling Brazil to develop its aerospace capabilities. Brazilian engineers and technicians were trained in Sweden.

  5. Milestones:
    • The assembly line was officially inaugurated in May 2023.
    • The first Brazilian-assembled F-39 Gripen E made its maiden flight in December 2023.
  6. Production Numbers:Out of the initial order of 36 Gripen E/F aircraft for the Brazilian Air Force, at least 15 Gripen E fighters are planned to be assembled entirely in Brazil at the Embraer facility. Some components for other aircraft in the order are also being manufactured in Brazil.
So, Brazil has established a significant local production capability for the Gripen E fighter jet through its collaboration with Saab.

There is no reason for JF17 to be in Brazilian airforce.

HIs videos are usually clickbaity and most of his information seems to "stem from this forum" though in a very exaggerated manner.

Let's not kid ourselves, Brazilians are operating Grippens why would they need JF-17s?

This defence deal most likely would involve drones or loitering munitions, maybe some small arms too. Heck Brazil might even throw their hat into the sea sultan project if we're being generous

Under Lula’s government, the Brazilians may want a non-western fighter, especially considering how Trump is acting these days. A barter trade for the KC-390 may only be financially viable for the PAF, so it’s just a chance for Brazil to get something for its KC-390s.

But as with the Argentinian offer, any talk of a partial Chinese fighter coming into the western hemisphere will see serious pressure from the US.

Go back to the thread history and see for yourself, its you who had the itch to bring IK and PTI in this thread. Naïve you are, is all that I can say.
