PAF Future Acquisition Plans

@Quwa

thats actually not bad, but well have to see what prod numbers this is based off annd whats included. This could be brought down to very manageable levels with pak partnership hmm
I think controlling OPEX could be TAI's best play to market the KAAN to the PAF and, on the other end, for a PAF planner to really understand the value.

Basically, any rational mind will understand that Pakistan can't be a key production-side partner nor development partner. However, post-sale support and parts manufacturing can be a different ballgame, if not a gamechanger.

Perhaps there is potential for PAC (or even a network of private Pakistani companies) to make the KAAN spare parts and MRO side flush with low-cost options. They could bring OPEX down to reasonable levels, not just for the PAF, but TuAF and others too.

So, if the Pakistani industry can fire up the spare parts, MRO, and after-sale supply chain side of the equation, the total cost of ownership of a KAAN over 10-15 years can be under $200 million USD per unit (which, for a NGFA with less than 1,000 units, would be pretty good).

All this talk is good . However till pakistan fix it's economy and manufacturing all these items will be hard to get.

Besude by 3033 a blk 3 version of kaan will 5.5 gen fighter for 100 million usd is not a bad bang for buck

It's really ridiculous. The people pin their hopes on a fighter jet that only exists in a PPT. Regarding the year 2035, well, ha. You can say it will come out in 2035, or you can say it will come out in 2045, but who knows? Currently, among all Western countries, except for the United States, none of them has the ability to produce an engine that can power a fifth-generation fighter jet. You expect a country that has never manufactured a fighter jet before to suddenly produce a fifth-generation fighter jet. In what aspects is this country strong? In terms of science and technology, economy, and talent, it has no edge in any of these areas.

It's impossible to produce a fifth-generation fighter jet just relying on some second-rate technologies that can be exported.

Lol no chance that we will get J36 within a decade or so and will be hyper-expensive to buy maybe after 2050 we can get J36
If pigs will fly by then -

It’s also a mismatch for Pakistan - J-36 is quasi B-21 - Su-34 type designed for the long range pacific fight.

Pakistan needs hypersonic and stealth + EW combo

Air Chief is in China, anything new will be materialized for near future such new defence system and Air crafts.?

Air Chief is in China, anything new will be materialized for near future such new defence system and Air crafts.?

Lets pick one that helps one sleep better

1- Most likely to observe the status of training happening on J35

2- Observing Latest demo of J35 modifications made as requested by Pakistan Airforce
  • He would not go there unless something was functional an flying in integrated machine

3- Could be even the graduation ceremony of first J35 Pilots or Support Crew, quite possible because it has been a while since the first crew went for training , it must be graduation time
  • Would be a big occasion, passing ceremony of first crew and staff members

4- Could be the latest batch of J10C being completed going there to cut the ribbon on the new 20 planes, finalize hand over time frame
  • Remaining planes are ready perhaps need to attend ceremony for hand over
5- May be see the new 6th Generation plane up close while he is there, obviously as head of air force he would be quite interested to see this 6th Generation machine , learn more about it

Obviously all these initiative started back in 2016/2018 time frame long time ago, all are tied to decisions made long time back just following thru the planned calendar and visits . Not something that was planned recently last minute
