The Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict

Instead of creating a separate thread, I will just post stuff related to Azerbaijani army in this thread.

Recent exercise involving PULS MRL with EXTRA pods (EXTRA is a high precision artillery rocket with 150 km range).

PULS was previously displayed at ADEX 2024, with EXTRA and Predator Hawk pods. Predator Hawk is a larger rocket with 300 km range.

And all this because of Pashinyan. He's policy of trying to get Armenia to the West has doomed the country.

Thats has nothing to do with Pashinyan. This is more Hungary and its relationship with Azerbaijan, as well as th general beef between Hungary and the EU. Hungary is saying if you are going to send Armenia money, you need to also send Azerbaijan money.

I don't know if signing a deal right now is a smart move. Elections in Erivan are right around the corner. A new Armenian government with a dedicated anti-West stance could be more useful in the long run....

Meanwhile, Turkey has quietly urged Baku to sign the peace agreement, reminding Azerbaijani officials of shifting regional dynamics, such as Iran’s waning influence.

A regional source familiar with the negotiations told Middle East Eye that it was Turkey that originally proposed the idea of a private company, approved by both Armenia and Azerbaijan, managing the corridor.

"However, the Armenian side demanded that the company should also work on the Nakhchivan side of the corridor, which was unacceptable for Baku," the source said.

Its not a done deal yet. The main issue is the Miatsum clause(unification of Armenia and Karabakh) in the Armenian declaration of independence, that is referenced in the Armenian Constitution. Pashinyan does not as of yet have the capability to change the constitution. That requires a super majority and a referendum. Aliyev is insisting on it as a condition to signing the treaty, so the only way it gets signed anytime soon is if he softens his position on that matter. But otherwise the text is agreed to.

His actions are loud. He clearly wants to put an end to this whole ordeal.

After Trump’s Victory, Yerevan Agreed to Add Two Points to the Peace Agreement — Ilham Aliyev

“Real negotiations began in January 2024. Work was being done on a draft text that we had prepared, and it was agreed upon. Armenia did not want to add two points. But as soon as President Donald Trump won the election, they added the two points. The amendment to Armenia’s Constitution and the dissolution of the Minsk Group — once these two issues are resolved, a peace agreement can be signed,” said Ilham Aliyev.
