India has never planned to invade Pakistani territory or initiate a war over the past 70 years. Most of India’s actions have been retaliatory counter-operations, typically in response to provocations or attacks from Pakistan. Historically, Pakistan maintained a more aggressive stance along the borders — especially up until the Kargil War.

Limited war or short-term skirmishes suit Pakistan’s strategy, but when it comes to full-scale border conflicts, it plays into India’s strength. If Pakistan opens up one front, it could tactically force India to respond on multiple fronts.

There will be no captures, anyway, everything will be settled, and changes will be reverted. It won't be staying long.
