I am not jealous of India's purchase of Rafale, but it is ridiculous that Indians think that Rafale is more advanced than J-10C.

The Tejas fighter jet that India spent 40 years developing is not as advanced as the FJ-17 produced by Pakistan.

China is the country with the most experience in electronic warfare, except the United States. Chinese fighter jets have to intercept and counter hundreds of American electronic warfare aircraft invasions every year.

I would favor Mig35s in place of Rafale, they are not just very cheap comparatively but also defeat Rafale-F16s in A2A operations to cross international border

well after wasting more than 25 years IAF is finally understanding that its obsession to get Russian or French fighters ONLY or for that matter maybe a few US made once had cripelling efects on its future plans

having said that the plans laid down in good old days of last AB Vajabi govt are finally getting clearer than ever after almot 25 years and now after much scuttling IAF knows if it wants to be a potent force and not wants itself to be bullied by France/Europe or Americans or the Russians they will have to have LCA type projects in full force

so here is what its going to be like

all Su30's that could be upgradable (235) maybe will be upgraded with new engines, radar &avionick and weapons

so will be all remaing Mig29s and Mirage2000 in similar way

40+83+97 LCA in various trenches
and AMCA.... i think MK2 will only be a test bed for AMCA

while 36+36+26 rafale while 64 at later stage while 36 Su57

rest everything will be talk talk and more fancy talk ........Jai ho bahi log

These Rafales need to be carrier based capable. They need to be used for Vikrant carrier. The Mig35s are land based only.

We find Mig29k of Indian current AC equals F52s in most of comparisons. The twin engine Mig29 does also have a meaning as compared to single engine F16.
Mig29s have infrastructure and training in India.
The price and non-western supplier, As, how we faced issue of western engine in LCA mk1/Tejus......
Reliable arm and reliable supplier, whome would you chose?
On my side, I find Mig29k are fit in comparison also
