I don't think China is interested to get tangled up in the quagmire. Yes they won't let go of an opportunity to put checks on India but they won't participate directly in an India-Pakistan war. Historically they have been been pretty neutral in all the past wars.

Let's say hypothetically China enters the war then it'll bring an equal reaction by the Western powers ie. USA specifically. America won't let go of such an opportunity.

Pak, India, China USA it all comes full circle so it'll only be a small skirmish at best. War is not good for business and economy.

Unless there is US intention to do this and they have a hand here. To bring China into conflict with India by forcing its hand and triggering a Pak-India war. I think it's well within China's interest to have this all settle down and assist both sides to de-escalate and figure out what happened here with the attacks.

China does not want any stupid distractions and unnecessary drama. US does.

That is all dandy, but if we are to believe the Indians all hell is about to break lose versus Pakistan. The Americans giving the Indians a green light to retaliate against Pakistan isn't very bright either.

Of course the bigger powers won't intervene directly. Nevertheless behind the scenes China will be supporting Pakistan and the Americans the Indians.
