Arming these ships with SSMs shouldn't be a problem. I hope these would have gotten SSMs and will operate in air cover of the fleet and ground based SAM networks. PN surface fleet will likely remain at defensive positions. Subs and fighter aircraft squadrons will do offensive ops.

Having said that, I feel threat in naval domain is the most. As india believes her strength is navy.

Damen OPVs are being used primarily for Paramilitary use. Although these warships are fully war-capable but these will be utilized until we have sufficient number of FACs/Patrol Boats.

Wasn't there supposed to be a Yuan on lease from the PLAN (for training, etc) as well? I also wish the PN had a bunch of SWATS too (sitting near our littorals) so that the Khalid/Hangor-class can push their presence farther out.

I supect theyre jointly crewed or if not, theyre doing patrols, but return to base in China.
 
If your Supply port is near by Frigates and even small boats can be refueled and resupplied with weapons

If Pakistan Navy was doing a mission as far as Africa perhaps you can argue sure it would be nice to have a destroyer

But for our regional needs the frigate and stealth ship based Navy is sufficient for current time

Jinnah Class Frigates will improve our capabilities to Patrol areas a bit far away like Red Sea or Indian Sea near

The Turkish C-130 was in town. They could have ferried over supplies. Who knows ;)

Its not feasible to go back frequently to the port and resupply during the war, when missiles are being fired at each other. The risk is just too high. On top the port will be targeted too.

The benefit of modern destroyers or large modern frigates are immense. These provides continuous deep sea presence due to enhanced endurance and massive firepower. You won't run out of missiles sooner then your enemy. JCF will be a good addition but firepower is simply too low.

BTW, look at this interesting ship North Korea has produced. With 4 different VLS systems and overall 74 cells. I am not very confident on its air defense capabilities but there is no doubt in its SSM capabilities, given NK's immense expertise in that domain.

What does the navy need to be capable of putting on a blockade of Indian oil supply routes?
