Bakhtoras feeling brave after targeting civilian infrastructure in Pakistan, killing civilians is never an achievement except it may cause some panic in the public.
Pakistan OTOH can easily turn any slumdog street into a shamshan ghat but unlike India Pakistan doesn't need to showboat and it stuck to it's guns and created many records.
But sadly even without intention, civilian in IOK will always suffer as in this case .

You reading it wrong my dear India is trying enforce the idea that India is and Indian also in future can take initiatives at her will against Pakistani population and State of Pakistan is weak to defend Indian incursion and aggressions against it's population, hence Sovereignty of Pakistan is limited and does not deserve respect.

Bro, we shouldn't have to "build" a big response. War planners should have pre-built responses already in place which should take 24-48 hours to put into action. The response needs to be swift as international pressure is building up.

Pakistani journalists (e.g. Malick) were told by the military that at least eight targets were already preselected before the Indian attack and would be hit in retaliation. The fact that they have not been hit could mean that the military uncovered a leak and abandoned that plan, or that Islamabad cashed some checks from Riyadh or Washington.

How I see is,

They only face saving for India is that we attacked the terrorist sites (as per India as they were open Mosques in the middle of residential areas, surrounded by civilians) and then we returned. In this process 3 or whatever the number of jets were crashed but we did not hit them back as we didn't want to escalate the matter into war.

Other than that, it was a complete embarrassment for India and I foresee many ranked officers being fired very soon.

A lot of numbers are being circulated here and all other social media regarding the number of indian jets shot and engaged. My take..
So far IAF is maintaining an unprecedented silence over the whole thing. Even media and "reliable" experts like shiv aroor and Abhijit Iyer are not disclosing anything except some cryptic quotes. So it's obvious that some upset has happened.
*I was watching the whole thing in real time. By 4:00 IST some folks here posted about Indian jets begin getting crashed/ shot. Then news quoting some " defence officials" came on pakistani channels. This was picked by other international media and a circular quoting chain started.
In india "Hindu" was the first to came with the story of 3 jets shot/ crashed. But the image was of some discarded Fuel tank outside a school in Indian Kashmir. No source was given. Later on the tweet was deleted and apology released.

Now The Hindu being a well known MSM this post got wide coverage . All other media houses made this one the base of their reports.

Meanwhile PDF and other pakistani media was going wild over the numbers. 3-4-5-6 jets + UAV were claimed to be shot.
I witnessed All types of real/ fake/edited images in those few hours.
It was a wild night.
Now so far the only "credible" reported incident is from Bhatinda.
Even there no official update has came so far.
The mystery of Bhatinda is further compounded by the distance between the crash site and IB. It's not possible that any jet shot near the IB or in pakistani air space can fly till the crash site. The PAF jet has to enter Indian Space to shoot it. This is something denied by both sides.
My hunch is that the Jet got damaged due to pakistani AA fire / or technical malfunction during the attack and tried to return to base but got crashed 20 km away from Bhatinda Air Base.
Or worse it was shot by own AA.
If any PAF jet was involed in the shooting then they must be having Gun camera or other proof. So far nothing has came out.

Gun camera? It was a BVR missile fired from Pakistan into India. I remember Shiv Aroor posted that some jet(s) were lost and then deleted it. Deccan Herald and The Hindu also posted 3 jets lost and then deleted it. Now NO Indian MSM is even posting 3 jets crashed anymore. Now Indian MSM is posting ONE(1) 'unidentified' jet crashed in Bathinda. Reuters is still maintaining their 3 jets crashed report. CNN is quoting French intel officials that ONE(1) Rafale was shot and others are under investigation. We saw PL-15E debris in India, and you just couldn't admit PL-15 shot your Rafale? Is it that hard to comprehend and accept? Why do Indians like living in denial, boast and lie. If it is a kill, it is a kill. I still remember days of denial when Abhi the tea boy was captured. What about the mysterious Martin Baker (3 unidentified) ejections? What about the M88-2 engines found in India? Why is Pak Def Min loudly proclaiming 3 Rafales shot and of course when asked for evidence said it was all over social media in CNN. Why is the typical baostful GOI so quiet?

My 2 cents fwiw.
We must look at the bigger picture here and know that india is not our only enemy and bigger, more sinister plan might be at play. I don't think there will be a bigger news than two nuclear armed forces really going at each other, to cause a media frenzy and to divert the attention of the world from what israel is going to do in coming days in Gaza. Don't fall for those hypocritical people in power that are calling for restraint for they might be the ones pushing india to "do more".

As for the mir jafars at home, I said few days ago that I don't expect retaliation from PMLN led gov.

Off course this is just an observation. Only time will tell and Allah knows best.

I have no idea. Only the top leaders must be privy to it.

In any case no one is expected to spell out the exact plan and course of action openly. The cards are kept close to the chest and would unfold as other side makes it moves.

AA missiles does have 2 way data link to transmit image of the target. Can you get some ?
Problem is the distance between the crash site and the incident side. PAF jet needs to enter Indian space to shoot the jet. So far no one has claimed this.
