"Assalam-o-Alaikum, friends. Let’s have a sincere and respectful discussion about Pakistan’s foreign policy choices. For decades, we’ve stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Saudi Arabia, our ‘brotherly’ ally—deploying troops to defend their sovereignty, mediating in regional crises, and even abstaining from direct action in Yemen out of solidarity. Yet recently, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister visited India, a nation openly hostile to Pakistan, urging ‘restraint’ while deepening ties with Modi’s government. This comes as Turkey and Azerbaijan—nations that vocally support Kashmir’s right to self-determination—seek closer partnerships with us.
This raises tough questions: Should Pakistan continue prioritizing alliances where reciprocity feels one-sided? While Saudi aid has been critical, is it time to go more closer to the nations like Turkey—whose defense collaborations and UN advocacy for Kashmir align more closely with our interests—or Azerbaijan, a nation that stood by us during its own struggle for Karabakh?
Let’s reflect: Loyalty matters, but so does dignity. Can we afford to be the ghazi on Saudi fronts while they court those undermining our core disputes? Or should we invest in relationships that mirror our struggles and values? Share your thoughts—this is a conversation we need to have, openly and honestly."
