Pakistan-India Conflict 2025: News Updates and Discussion

So there’s a ceasefire and the IWT is suspended?

This seems like a loss.
IWT cannot be suspended unilaterally. We Pakistanis must understand this despite whatever nonsense you hear from the Indian side. It was a World Bank arbitrated treaty. Pakistan and the WB are parties to this along with the fascist nutcases across the border. There is no clause in the IWT for these fascists to claim they are bailing.

They cannot and they know it. Second, any tangible steps taken by Modi bastard to affect us as a downstream riparian state, would set the precedence further north from India. There are things that Pakistan and China can coordinate which can cause enough discomfort for India to reconsider any unilateral stupidity over IWT.

How did we get here?

Once again, an all-out conflict between the two South Asian rivals has been averted - at least for now.

Again, the US seems to have been the key player in brokering a ceasefire.

While India and Pakistan may be going back to their bases to count their losses or gains, President Trump is likely to portray himself as a global peace maker, and his Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, can claim his first major diplomatic success.

The Pakistani military can tell its people how they managed to thwart what they call India's aggression. In a way, they are another winner here as the country rallied behind them.

Just two years ago, there were protests against Pakistan's army by the supporters of the ousted former prime minister Imran Khan.

Well, what India can learn?

India can again argue that it didn't hesitate to strike at what it calls terrorist infrastructure inside Pakistan, despite Pakistan's nuclear deterrence.

Overall, Delhi may also realise that their bitter rival's air power may be more than a match, and they fell short of landing the decisive blow they sought, despite spending billions on new weapons.

I hope you are wrong. I hope it stops here and the two sides manage at DGMO level.

It must be said here, we are hugely indebted to our fighting men and women for the determination and grit they have demonstrated.

Second, a huge debt of gratitude to our friends/brothers in China, Turkey, Azerbaijan and others. The last 4 days have clearly shown Pakistan who our true friends are and who the bystanders are/will be in the future.

May God always, always bless Pakistan. Pakistan armed forces zindabad, PAKISTAN PAINDABAD!

I have mixed feelings about this. It feels being misled that ceasefire was mediated within 12h of my registration on this forum.

No idea about Indian theocracy under Modi but PM Shehbaz and FM Dar must take parliament into confidence.

Pakistan's coalition government may fall in wake of the fallout of ongoing war with India.

Yes. Not only good economy but we need good friends. India didn't listen to Gulf and Iran (tbf we didn't respond till then). It is after the US intervened, India agreed. However, the US was reluctant initially as it doesn't need Pakistan like in 2020, and it is dealing with domestic and ME & Ukr crisis.
Pakistan needs to check all the boxes:
EW suites, AD, Naval defence,
Drones and anti-drone defence,
Artillery, rocketry,
Stable Economy, Politics, etc etc

The americans ONLY intervened when their pet project against China was about to be defeated by Pakistan.

The Chinese govt all out support for Pakistan.

It came from France too. And bbc confirmed it too

But you guys are shamelessly quiet about it

Those poor pilots also deserve some recognition

Particularly if they are dead which seems to be the case

Enemies who come to kill our children are Enemies.

Pilot in the jet got a free cremation service. They can see the positive side with a little effort.

Given Pakistan’s current economic and political situation, probably the weakest we have been for a long time, incredible performance from the forces. PAF has literally rendered the enemy impotent. Pak Army has also responded well, when they did… one thing which is lacking (for obvious reasons probably) is our lack of will to be unpredictably aggressive.

Prove me wrong but India now feels emboldened to start a conflict when it feel like, and can stop it when it feels like.

Indian mil spox says they hit about 9 Pakistani most critical major airbases including Skardu, Sargodha, Bholari etc. I wonder if it was true, Pakistan must have hit back. But we didn't we only hit empty airstrips within 100km or so range. We didn't hit any large airbase.

Note, we have 12 major airbases and then dozen FOBs. Hitting 9 airbases is quite a massive claim.

We hit 26 location and caused significant damage.India got the memo f*ck around and find out.The point has been made let it go.

Afaik, PM spoke to all the parties leadership including PTI to brief them. I couldn't care less about what happens to the political circus though.

IF Pakistan hit nothing meaningful then the indians would not be agreeing to a ceasefire. The damage they were suffering was unsustainable. indians were claiming at the start of the conflict that they will do to Pakistan what the israelis did to the Gazans.

If you believe indians or the indian media then you also belive that india can beat both Pakistan and China..........

Pakistan better have Renegotiated the IWT
Why? It's still intact and neither Pakistan or Hindustan can pull out of the treaty fully unilaterally.

It's like a child saying I don't like going to school but still goes to school. That's the situation with the Hindustani announcement.

While PAF and PA performed well and dealt the pajee*s a bitter defeat. The conflict exposed Pakistan's weakness. Pakistan has no depth, all airbases are too close to the frontline.

If Muslims wants to reconquer the sub-continent, Afghanistan and Pakistan has to merge. Military facilities and bases and military leadership located in Afghanistan will be far enough from the frontline to be protected well.

Or invest in better base defences and take them out of population centres so that they are easier to defend. Having them in population dense areas means the choices of systems for base defence are limited as line of sight for both detecting a threat and responding to that threat means you may end up hitting a build or a tower etc.

Slowly, over time, these bases and new bases need to be built in open areas, where the surrounding area can be more securely defended and that defence is easier too.
