couple of days since the BVR battle between Pak and India and we now have a somewhat accurate understanding of what happened. One thing that puzzled me was the lack of any evidence that India AF has fired off any BVR missiles at PAK AF jets. Couple of possibilities for this.
1. they didn't have any. There was some reports that the French have delayed Meteor shipments to India
2. Indian AF was not allowed to engage based on rules of engagement
3. India AF has some serious issues with datalink compatibility where the air defense and AWACS radars were unable to provide guidence to the Meteor missile to support BVR combat. It is very unlikely that the frontline fighters would turn on their radars to guide the missile as that will make them a target.

My money is on #3. Pak AF is setup for BVR combat while Indian AF is not.

I was wondering that myself, they again didn't even get off a single missile. My bet is on intense jamming by the PAF.

This of what couple of SH15 guns, firing on rapid rate, did within couple of minutes. Was all over for them in the blink of an eye.

The statement that damage assessment is progress also sounds fishy. Damage assessment doesn’t take so long for ground targets. Especially with so many ways available to verify and prove.

IAF has shown the pictures of the damage caused.

Waiting for proof and not lofty statements.

I am personally sad by this news but don't know why Indians don't get it.

I don't trust this ceasefire to last. It's clear that the internationalization of the Kashmir dispute is a risk that the Indian government cannot come to terms with.

I believe the voices talking about the ceasefire breaking within days is true. There will be another round, perhaps the last round since 1948....

No, there are tensions with the Talibs, its would be great to have that strategic depth though, but I suspect that possibility is unlikely, especially the damage Musharraf did may be difficult to ever repair.

Well some said that they expect India to create some topi drama between the 12th and 13th.

If this can hold till trump makes his ME trip then its solid. Until then it's very much a hair trigger situation.

I dont trust Indians under Modi and the BJP right now. And I used to be very accommodating towards them, but the past year or so all the noise coming out of India and then this entire episode, its changed my perception.
