PAF F-16 | Discussions

Pakistan is a very small market for USA. Losing sales ? No. The AH-1Z were offered through FMS assistance meaning almost free or very less price. The FMS was cancelled by USA and Pakistan said it will not pay full price as this wasnt the deal.

Similarly, the original block 52+ package offered 36 F-16s, in which 18 were optional. This fell under FMS package which was cancelled so PAF asked for 8 F-16C later on. USA offered them on full price. PAF refused.

FMS (Foreign Military Sales) are not "almost free", sometimes they are even more expensive then buying direct from manufacturer.

FMF (Foreign Military Financing) is when very favourable terms, essentially US funding the purchase is what was withdrawn.

Its a smaller unit but with more than 5 a/c. Its has all the structure of any regular sqn, OC, flight commander, SEO, EOs etc.

Just thats its embedded with ACE/CCS does not make it less of a functional sqn.

I thought it was around 8, which makes sense considering MLU F-16 numbers. In fact Scramble.nl confirms it was 8, just search under Military Database, Pakistan Air Force and F-16A MLU and F-16B MLU

Gives 2 Bs and 6 As as being with 29Sqd

@Signalian knows his stuff. Sometimes we are not at liberry to dish out the facts lest we spill too much.

Not spilling too much yaar, it is no state secret. I found it online within 20 seconds.

What is amusing is when some people pretend they have insider knowledge and all they do is google search or not in this case
