For those who know!

This Qasem-Basir missile is super accurate and nearly invincible

1) It makes maneuvres at high altitude and that means neither Arrow-3, not David's Sling/THAAD/PAC-3 can intercept it.
David's Sling can intercept in late stages, not high altitude

the slow speed at final stages is its weakness, it is far from invincible

the late stage speed of mach 1-2 probably make it also vulnerable to iron dome

are you sure Iron Dome intercepted M600?

it talks about Grad rockets
Not that incident I think it was 2016 or 2015 and Syria fired a dozen m600 at Israel. they all get intercepted it my memory serves me right

I looked it up it was 2018 ans syria in response of Israel attacking one Iranian base fire 20 of its m600 toward golan height bases and all of them get intercepted

is there evidence it was m-600? according to what I find online only 4/20 were intercepted as the other 16 missed their target. I don't think you will launch 20 M-600 missiles. it sounds more like Grad rocket attack to me.

"The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said that early on Thursday morning 20 rockets had been launched at its forward posts there by the Quds Force, the overseas operations arm of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps.

IDF spokesman Lt Col Jonathan Conricus said four rockets were intercepted by the Israeli Iron Dome aerial defence system, while 16 others fell short of their targets. No injuries or damage were reported."

ChatGPT says for EO sensor to work for ballistic missile its warhead must decelerate to Mach 3-4.

Is there any source that claims Qasem-Basir impacts at Mach 1-2?

Also according to ChatGPT, it is possible to make a ballistic missile with EO sensor with the range of 4000km.

Imagine a 4000km range ballistic missile (Khorramshahr missile) with warhead with EO sensor that can hit targets in Diego Garcia and US Ramstein Air Base in Germany with <5m accuracy.

Also if I'm not mistaken they said they will equip many older ballistic missiles with this new warhead

In engineering field , you can not have all good feature at same time ...
if they want to use optical sensor as main guidance system , they have to reduce speed unless they create new high temperature resistance transplant material...
probably they are going to use more missiles to overcome the AD systems ...

lack of accuracy is bigger problem for us than by passing Air Defense systems

Iron Dome can't intercept ballistic missiles.

Iron Dome was designed to intercept Grad rockets and mortar shells with predictable trajectories.

Iron Dome can't even intercept cruise missiles, let alone ballistic missiles.

Jewsrael has David's Sling and Arrow for ballistic missiles.

Seems like Iran will overwhelm David's Sling and Arrow with massive salvo of large number of precise ballistic missiles.

Jewsrael's arsenal of expensive Arrow-3 interceptors is depleted due to repeated ballistic missile launches from Yemen. That's why Netanyahu asked US to supply THAAD

Remember, they usually launch two interceptors against one missile

people estimate mach 1 from footage that was released of the warhead impacting

as another user said, there are always trade offs

this type of sensor is more expensive than INS+GNSS and means the missile has less speed at impact, increasing possibility for late interception and reducing kinetic energy of impact
