No tariffs by India on the US and Trump blocking US companies like Apple from manufacturing in India for the US market. Trump is undermining India’s dream of becoming a manufacturing power like China in a real way.
This is the other fallout from this conflict, the limitations on Indian growth Trump is imposing, not out of animosity towards India but to rebuild American manufacturing.
Btw, this comes at a time when the US will have more cards and will try to exact more concessions from India.
Immigration is being tightened in the collective west, and big tech companies are moving away from bringing in coders much less H1B coders. Modi’s options of economic growth are slowing.

To be fair to the COAS, now it’s on to the economy. If his team can get the economy going, it will be like Deng’s famous quote, white cat or tabby cat, as long as it catches mice. This is probably how most of the public feels, despite their desire for a dignified democratic system.

Manmohan and Vajpayee were leaders of stature and visionaries in contrast with Modi. And, no, they didn't 'appease' Pakistan but they were pragmatic and wanted peace. They followed the previous leaders like Indira Gandhi to make relative peace with China while also, at least since the early 90s, got closer to America. Smart strategy and worked well for India as the Indian economic growth and threat perception from China decreased.
Modi has ruined all that by unnecessarily heating the frigid mountains of the Himalayas. China had not much interest in confronting India but was provoked by Modi's 'muscular' foreign policy. Those of us who have a long presence on PDF know how the Indian members used to ridicule Pakistan's reliance on China. It is all there in the old PDF's posts pre 2016 era. But Modi changed all that.

Move as much manufacturing to Mexico, Central America, South America and Canada as possible. That would be an American 'patriot' response, IMO. The militaristic view of the Monroe Doctrine is archaic: There needs to be a fresh look at that doctrine: The Economic Monroe Doctrine.

Agree. If the pilot ejected and was captured by Pak forced the wreckage must have fallen inside Pakistan or AJK with a .0001% chance of a very high altitude/mach speed ejection over IOJK/India which like you mention would have little to no chance of survival. RIP

I’ve written my article. The implications are far greater than what we are currently seeing. They conducted their test—and failed. They thought they could beat Pakistan and then prepare themselves for China. But the Americans have now realized that they couldn’t even overpower Pakistan, a much smaller country. So how will they defeat China? The implications India for this failure are already beginning to show.
