While it is understandable and fine that we celebrate our AF victory, I hope we are spending 10x as much time on countering BrahMos, both defensively and offensively.

India has learned from this last war and will focus their next attack on missile salvos not airforce.

Su-30 was excellent on paper when bought in the late 90s. Gave India power projection and all, which was a key purpose, but it was operationally unavailable in sufficient numbers at a given time. The only aircraft that remained potent even then was the Mirage-2000 and the IAF eventually began pushing the GOI to acquire more Mirages - in large numbers. This subsequently gave birth to MMRCA competition for 126 aircraft and their ToT. In short, MMRCA was, in part, intended to mitigate the Su-30 problem.

And now all the IAF jets have become irrelevant for all of their secrets are now out! And, they'll forever remain at the mercy of the PAF. They have to now start from the scratch: procurement, training, logistics, armarmts, integration, tactics, operations, strategy, doctrine etc. It means 100s of billions of $s spanned over a decade. Add into it the Bharati inherent mistrust on a single source, slow procurement rate, slow training regime, extreme caution, superb cunning, clever negotiation to extract the maximum of "penny wise pound foish" etc...

Moreover, as per the KITAP, they can't learn anything new or unlearn what they've already learnt. And, their super strategic allies are the folks who carry HIS La'net and that of the entire creation 24/7 on their shoulders....

On the other hand, taking clue from the past, the PAF "mad maxes" will quad down on their unending enthusiasm to explore newer frontiers in air warfare with ectsacy, boldness and confidence. And, its strategic allies, who are themselves hell bent to prove their places under the sun, will be as cooperating and eupheric as them....
