Guys when was the last time IAF had a confirmed kill against PAF in a-a combat or even surface to air ? Probably over Dacca in 1971 right ? Since then Paf has had over 25 kills including 2-3 in 1973 against Israel, 8 in 1980s against afghan / Soviet,2 in 1999 kargil ( I think these were surface to air by PA), one in 2019 + 1 probably although I think this was bogus, and now 6. Is that correct.

To everyone making the argument that IAF losses on the first night do not matter as all the targets were hit, please. There are planning figures for estimated combat losses in every operation, and by all accounts, losses that night seem to have exceeded those figures.
To understand this better, consider this. Let's say hypothetically that IAF had lost a ridiculously high number, say 50 fighter jets in the operation that night to get all targets. Would that be acceptable? No. That's why planning figures and losses matter.
Wars are about learning the lessons quickly and implementing them asap. We have seen this in the Russia-Ukraine war. CDS was highlighting that for the operations on the 10th where India clearly did well. That's a big plus but 7th night wasn't.
