They sort of have FM90N though the newer LY80N on the tughril is much decent going in the future if there is a chance to upgrade some of the F22P subsystems comparable to TYPE 54 AP then the Navy should take the deal

There's a key capability the PAF have that gave them the edge in the BVR fight. Almost all PAF fighters are equipped with missile approach warning sensors (MAWS), all the block I and II JF-17s are equipped with UV based MAWS while the block IIIs are equipped with IR based MAWS, the same as those on the J-10Cs. I don't think even the Block 52 Vipers have MAWS. Combined with data link guidance of the PL-15s, this gave the PAF significant advantage in situational awareness, allowing them to defeat and incoming potential BVR missiles, although it seems the IAF didn't even get off one missile. I don't think any of the indian fighters are equipped with MAWS.

Alot of people also keep mentioning Iran vs Israel fight that happend quite a while ago
my take on that is Iran poured alot of its resources on dirt cheap mass produced ballistic missiles cheap suicide drones and somewhat of a decent AD domestic systems compared to us here in Pakistan but the one big mistake iran made was to let all of its other systems rot especially the Air Force you cant rely completely on your AD even you are fighting on your own home soil defensively you need somewhat decent/capable attack aircraft with those AD systems because on its own that AD is eventually gonna get overwhelmed

Maybe because Iran's 'deterrence' was using Hezbollah and Syria to do a North Korea on Israel via rockets and missiles, and therefore Iran had invested less on fighter aircrafts. Pakistan, being right next to India, has to rely on fighter jets, while Iran is far from Israel where 'dog fights' chances would be far less. So it was appropriate use of resources by Iran.

The LY-80 and FM-90 air defence systems, also Chinese-made, were unable to detect or stop India's low-flying drones and precision munitions.
