Totally agreed BuM was for local consumption and not a real military response. But the downing of 6 Indian fighter jets and the grounding of the Indian Air Force for two days (per their own admission) wasn’t a trivial matter. The Indians never used their Air Force after the initial battle and even by their own admission, fired their munitions on the 10th from extreme ranges.

Pakistan’s response was hampered by army dominated GHQ which turned a clear win on the 7th into an unnecessary mess.

If a ceasefire had occurred on May 7th, it could have been seen as a win for Pakistan, as Pakistani air defense had managed to shoot down Indian jets, while India was targeting irregular militias. However, by May 9th and 10th, India had clearly turned the tide by striking Pakistani airbases and radar installations across the entire length and breadth of the country—achieving these objectives without losing a single fighter jet, thereby emerging as the clear winner.

Hi, all Brahmos were air-launched, as per the official sources. Could you explain why PAF performed well on May 7th but was not much in the picture over the next 3 days? especially on May 10th. How come the IAF faced PAF resistance while targeting terror HQs, but faced none when targeting PAF airbases? The only difference between 7th and 10th was that the IAF was primarily using the Rafale-Scalp combo on 7th, while it was the Su30MKI-Brahmos combo on the 10th.
What's your take on it!!

Have you listened to Indian CDS interview in which he described at what distances the aircraft launched those missiles? It was at 200-300 KM away from Pakistani Border.

I think that in the era of rapidly advancing air defense systems, ballistic missiles will eventually become obsolete. I just see BrahMos as the problem for Pakistan, and am still seeking input from forum members on these clips that have been posted which are claimed BrahMos kills. Is that true ? if it is then its a matter of coverage, where Pakistani AD is present, BrahMos is stopped but obviously we dont have AD over every place. Still BrahMos didnt hit anything significant so there were other factors at play as well.

No country in this world has an impregnable defense against missiles. Look at Ukraine where West has sent its best AD platforms and yet Russians are still able to get through from time to time. Dont get so worked up over a few Brahmos hits, just look for a solution to them.

The defensive mindset is just playing into the Indians' hands.

It is IMPOSSIBLE for Pakistan to reliably intercept Indian projectiles, be it Brahmos, Nirbhay, Shaurya, etc. Even if we had a magical defence system with 100% intercept rate, our economy and and interceptor stocks are smaller than India's. We would always run out of interceptors before they run out of missiles.

The ONLY way to deter India is through assured offensive retaliation. If they destroy one of our airbases, we destroy three of theirs. If the Indians destroy PAF on the ground, that crosses a nuclear red line and we will do suttee of Bharat Mata.

To do this we need to shorten our response time and delegate launch authority to junior ranks the minute tensions rise, instead of waiting for indians to attack.

Exactly.
