Yes, the Ozgur upgrade, but it costs $80+ million for the full upgrade. For that much money the PAF can get 2 brand new J-10s.

Vipers are good in a SEAD/DEAD role so we can convert our current fleet for that role while J-10s remain as top cover.
Still I would consider getting upgrades for vipers, especially considering we still need to retire our Mirage and F-7 fleet. If we can get surplus airframes and these upgrades, it'll be atleast a method to keep current squadron numbers up and a stop gap until we induct enough J-10s, JF-17 Cs and J-35s in numbers

We just have to figure out what we need in an upgrade, considering our budget considerations, and what we could procure with the same money.
The full Ozgur upgrade maybe worth it, IMHO, for one squadron, using the Block 52 airframes, to be able to employ Turkish munitions and electronic systems, considering the KAAN will probably cost so much, if the economy doesn’t grow fast enough, that the stop gap Ozgur F-16 may have to be our premier “Turkish ” platform for the next 15 years.

Now that President Trump is fully into the exploration of the rare earth minerals, found in large quantities in both Pakistan and Turkey, a permission for a Turkish-style overhaul for the PAF F-16 fleet can be tried. Bharat has a fear factor for F-16s for they innately imagine to down or destroy F-16s....

Let us not forget, if the KJ-500/J-35/HQ-19 deal activates, it may take up a vast amount of PAF budget.

I think that's definitely the way to go. Kaan is still in infancy so we'll see it being inducted somewhere in the 2030s in the Turkish Airforce. Pakistan could then procure Kaan or atleast become part of the supply chain to bring costs down

As a matter of fact---it was a rude awakening of the western forces and their supporters.
This was the BLITZERBLEITER that no one saw it coming---. Well it was obvious what was coming---but the west believed so much in the smell of their own sh-it that they did not want to believe that china / pakistan were capable of doing anything even close to what happened---.
The technical information of the J10 CE / JF17 BLK3 was out there---but the will to believe that those EW packages and weapons be superior to anything the west has put forward---that was diabolically shocking---.
I mean to say---look at France---prancing about it ew package on the Rafale---.
First of all---it has a lower capability older aesa GAS based radar---plus it is a smaller radar with lesser TR modules than the BKL3's GAN based aesa radar---and they are claiming that their older tech radar is superior to chinese newer tech based radar---.
I mean to say---just the audacity to make that claim is astounding---. French forgot to mention that in the 20 years---it has only faced 3rd rate air forces---who had no capability to look---see & shoot back---.
first time their equipment has come acrross a capable foe and it has been decimated---obliterated in the home skies of the country flying it.
They are blaming in on indian pilots---.
I will guarantee you that the indian pilots are extremely capable pilots---extremely professional & well versed in their flying capabilities.
You have to be an exceptional capability pilot just to fly and operate a 4.5 gen flying machine---.

It is amazing how the JF17 Blk3 has grown from a strike aircraft to also an air superiority aircraft as well with the right radar and AA missile system---.

Totally agree.
There is no value on a cost/benefit basis to any upgrade of the F16 fleet for PAF given the other better options available to it now. I will remind ev ery one that the F16 fleet consists of various different blocks, with very different build dates that pose a problem in itself to try and apply a single upgrade path on. The diversity of the F16 fleet itself already poses a problem where not everything could be upgraded to Block 52 avionics due to these differences.
People really need to understand that the era of the F16 is over in Pakistan, let it retire in peace in Pakistan as it is now. The era of the J-35AE is now here with Kaan fast approaching behind it as well.
It is best to focus on the future fleet makeup where one component of that is here, ie the J-35AE, rather than obsess over "F16s" ...
