I think with satellite tracking or radar, the time of day is irrelevant now ?It happens at night because even with modern technology it’s harder to track at night than it is during the day. Plus Israeli planes and personnel need to rotate and rearm. You cannot fly 24/7.
And who told you missiles don’t have an operator?
Even solid fuels (which don’t require fueling stage) require a team of operators to set up and do the telemetry and coordinate upload into the missiles computer. It takes about 15-30 mins vs a liquid fuel missile they can take 1-2 hours.
I know missiles have crews as well, I meant once its been fired, its an autonomous device. We have seen many Russian attacks during the day time as well in Ukraine so I believe the reason for using them at night is deprive the enemy of sleep and part of psyops.
