I think if Wang Yi, who is basically at the core of power in China, is telling Netanyahu to his face that China will defend Iran, then that means China is going to take serious action in doing that. US intelligence is likely accurate. Iran has 2,000 missiles that can reach Israel. Probably 10,000+ short range ones. 10,000+ drones and cruise missiles. Possibly more drones.

But long range ballistic missiles are around 2,000. Which is why Iran invested in Hezbollah because it's long range ballistic missile production capacity is not more than superpowers. And even superpowers make them for non conventional purposes. They don't use them as conventional alternative to fighter jets.

Iran will have to get creative to damage Israel. And they should focus on economic targets and government symbols like Israeli Knesset building and so forth.
