Iran is not going to fight the US in guerilla and partisan warfare, unlike Afghanistan.

I think Iran planned something big tonight (“uninhabitable”) and it shook Israel and forced everyone in the shelters and forced Israel to go after launchers in Iran.

But that may have been a feint and the real attack wasn’t tonite at all but Iran was testing to see if Israel is holding back capabilities.

It will be sunrise in 60 mins in Tehran. Any big salvo will need to happen within next 30 mins in my opinion.

A country can bomb another to pieces but will never gain control without foot soldiers on the ground. If Taliban sends thousands of men to help in case of ground invasion that would be a lot of help.

They should focus on building their country now that they have managed to take control of it. People need food, job, health, security. They have plenty of things they can trade with neighbouring partners.

I am also, like many others on this thread, very confused at suggestions that high end non-Iranian assets be somehow "deployed" for Iran's military against Israel. What terms of what defensive pact between Pakistan and Iran, or between China and Iran, are being invoked in this proposed endeavour? As far as I know, no such treaty exists. Furthermore, no air force is going to "donate" a fighter jet via some clandestine network for the same purpose. These aren't AK47s produced in some blacksmith's in Peshawar.

Keeping the US/Europe bogged down in the Middle East is in China's strategic interest. Iran just happens to be the vehicle.

Time to snap out of your slumber and realise what's going on in this region.

There are always multiple contexts to consider in any situation. No one is blind to these other realities but it's a matter of what is urgent and what can be handled in due time.

Most apolitical Iranians probably have realized that Israelis don’t care about Iranian civilian lives. They may hate the oppression of unjust laws in their country but now they see bombing from above on the poshest areas of Tehran, and they remember what has been done to half a dozen countries that had the internal divisions exploited by the Israelis. Iranians can always struggle with a new leader after the fact. Right now Israeli is creating a situation that forces all but royalist to unite against the external existential threat.

It’s also possible with all the SIGINT planes in the air by NATO that they are jamming or hacking Iranian command signals to lower officers.

Iran is likely consulting with Russia and China on this. That cargo plane from China might have been to bring in secure communication equipment as a normal cargo plane cannot be expected to have anything game changing (ie air defense systems).
