Will the US get involved in the Israel-Iran conflict? Here’s what we know​

As Israel and Iran trade waves of strikes, US President Donald Trump has said publicly and privately that he wants to keep the US out of the fray.

Trump opposed an Israeli plan to kill Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, according to two sources. This weekend, a senior US official told CNN the Israelis had an opportunity to kill the supreme leader. The US communicated to Israel that Trump opposed the plan, the official said, and the plan was not executed. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu denied reports of such a plan.

The US has offered defensive support to Israel, intercepting an onslaught of Iranian reprisal strikes. But Trump has stopped well short of joining Israel’s military in its attempts to dismantle Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Sources said Israel had spoken with the US about possibly increasing its level of involvement, though one Israeli official cautioned that those conversations have not yet included “practical” discussions of the finer details.

And Trump has acknowledged that US involvement in the conflict is a possibility.

“We’re not involved in it. It’s possible we could get involved. But we are not at this moment involved,” Trump told ABC News on Sunday.

The competing interests have created a complicated dynamic for a president eager to make good on his pledge to bring peace to the world’s troubled regions.

I've stated this several times! The Afghans are of Iranic genetic stock and have willingly migrated to Iran in search of a better life and they will protect this if given the opportunity. Many Iranians have issues with them that are not based on reality! They do not hate the Islamic Republic unlike very many Iranians living abroad and unfortunately some living in Iran!

Iran should smoke Israel into ashes so that the WILL and REASON to fight is over within 24 hours, nothing held back ,after that Iran can throw everything on defending the mainland Iran...
BUT it is a nessacary for Iran to END ISRAEL WITH ALL ITS FIRE POWER AND END FAST... IRAN WILL HAVE TO DELIVER A KNOCKOUT PUNCH IN THE VERY FIRST HOUR OF NATO ATTACK... NO POINT SAVING ARSENAL ON THE GROUND LIKE SITTING DUCKS FOR NATO ... MIGHT AS WELL UNLEASH HELL .. SMOKE ISRAEL TO ASHES DEFEAT THE PURPOSE TO FIGHT....NO COUNTRY NO MOSSAD NO IDF NO IAF....

LET THE PROPHECY COME TRUE THAT BIRDS WONT FIND A PLACE TO LAND IN ISRAEL BECAUSE OF FIRE AND BODIES OF THESE GOG MOGOGS....
 
TEL vehicles are a precious commodity. If reports of Iran losing 1/3rd of them are true then it’s a worrying development.

The uk is actively involved in hostile military actions against Iran imho.. I don’t know what the military law of armed conflict says about providing fuel that enables an active mission as being involved or not for the state providing that…… ?

The truth mixed with the usual liberal nonsense of blaming the IRI. The people Reza are blaming are right now busy protecting the homeland and some are dying in process. I love to see Reza do the same if not then he and his likes need to shut the F up!

Many of us conveniently forget that Iran is fighting US/Israel/Arab and we have been doing the that block's bidding for a long time. Its the bitter truth our subconscious minds choose to forget.

Our generals have prioritised dollars over friendly relations with our western neighbours
 
Iran needs to utilise its Air Force or it will end up losing it anyways. IDF is not flying with AWACS support. They are using their fighters radars which have limited coverage, not 360. A clever pilot might be able to sneak in from a blind spot and hit a plane. If not that then at least use them to take down drones.

God Almighty man! I've told you! This how a patriotic population works! The government can be everywhere at all times! Iran is not North Korea! Calm down with hating your own government. They're doing more positive work for the country than ANY of us here! Be supportive or be quite! More important than ever!
