What continues to puzzle me is why Iran, despite facing repeated threats from Israel — particularly regarding its nuclear facilities — has refrained from developing a nuclear bomb. As far back as 2009, they were well aware that their national security was under constant threat, yet they chose not to cross that line.
In light of this war, I genuinely hope Iran takes a step back to reassess its strategic priorities. While diplomacy and resistance have their place, there must also be an evolution in military doctrine. One key lesson is clear: relying solely on air defense systems and ballistic missiles is not sufficient when facing a technologically advanced adversary like Israel.
Iran must begin to invest seriously in building a modern air force — not just for deterrence, but to project strength, safeguard sovereignty, and create a real balance of power in the region. Without air superiority or at least air parity, any future conflict will continue to expose critical vulnerabilities.
