If the ceasefire news is true, my condolences to the Iranian people. Once again, they have demonstrated remarkable bravery and resilience, only to be let down by their leadership.
Israel was taking a serious pounding, their society was in a panic mode. This ceasefire will only give them time to regroup, strengthen their defenses, and return even more prepared, while Iran emerges weaker than before. If Israel hadn’t been struggling, they wouldn’t have needed the U.S. to mediate a pause.
Iran missed a critical opportunity. They should have targeted Israel’s semiconductor fabs, desalination plants, and the Dimona facility when they had the chance. That would have been just retaliation for Israel’s assassinations of Iranian commanders, relentless airstrikes on Iranian cities, attacks on Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordow, and constant drone incursions.
Instead, this feels like a strategic failure. A moment for decisive action was wasted, and the long term consequences may prove costly.
