One official claims “we fired 5 missiles, hit 1 target, but could have launched 10 more.” The next says “we destroyed 3, damaged 2, but could have fired 20 more.” It turns into a game of one up until they’re convincing themselves they can launch 10,000 missiles at once and flatten Tel Aviv and Haifa. Add in all the grand, flowery language, and they end up believing their own hype more than anyone else.

I mean, does it even matter?
Whether 1 missile hit or 6 missiles hit, it was still a very weak symbolic attack.
The US destroyed 3 of our nuclear facilities and let's assume 6 of our missiles hit Al-Udeid. Does that establish deterrence?

It's really hard to understand what the IR thinks. I mean these people seem absolutely clueless to me. They have no master plan, they just want to stay in power for one more day, it seems. How can you run an astronomically costly nuclear program for +35 years, get it bombed eventually but not build the bomb?

I was watching the interview of Ali Alizadeh with Hooshang Amir-Ahmadi. Amir-Ahmadi said that the Islamic Republic is an ideologue regime that believes they should hand over Iran to Imam Mahdi. So, their priority is to keep the political system in place only.
Even if it means that the ruins of Iran will be handed over, they're fine with it. It's hard to argue that he is wrong. We are in war and they aren't even opening public bunkers for the people.
