PAF J-35AE - News, Updates and Discussions

This could be similar at J-17 project but with China also inducting the fighter. Pakistan providing inputs in the project but no money.
PAF has a good exposure to International tech thanks to the exercises with advanced GCC/NATO militaries.

While we can say that for certain if it were the 90s/00s, China has already had a nice leap in tech, one that doesn’t need much of our input anymore.

Pakistanis are naturally intuitive so having Pakistani engineers should always bring in innovation if led by a visionary organization/program lead.

KAAN on the other hand would benefit a lot from our engineers with the experience of Thunders and probably J-35(?). There’s a reason why a good number of our workforce are in TAI right now.

No, you are the one who claimed, and I quote, "No political or military background". I just find it strange you would say that when all the evidence is contrary to that.
Okay. When we talk about political background, we usually mean that one has held a position with political decision-making ability, rather than an auxiliary position. Judging from Gao's resume, he has worked in relevant administrative work, but not a position with political decision-making ability.
Positions with political decision-making ability usually refer to positions with decision-making power within a certain range. For example: village head, town head, mayor, governor, or department head of a professional political institution.
This may be different from your understanding.

Similar to him, there is another person who has been popular recently. Shen Yi

Interestingly, there are some news commentators in China with military backgrounds who also have a 50%:50% credibility rating on Chinese social media.

Regarding the J-35, we have the simplest evidence:
Recently, China is preparing for the "9.3 Military Parade".
In order to gather enough J-35s to participate in the parade, SAC brought all the J-35 prototypes with pitot tubes to participate in the parade. If they had enough J-35s, they would not have brought out the prototypes.

OK, really splitting hairs right now, it is very clear he has a political background, irrespective of how you now try and define it. Your first post implied he had no such experience.

From 1983 to 1988, Gao was a translator for Deng Xiaoping. He was also a member of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1983 to 1989 at the United Nations Secretariat in New York. After leaving the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1988, Gao was recommended by Henry Kissinger to study at Yale University, where he earned a Juris Doctor degree from Yale Law School in 1993. Then he was a policy adviser for the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission from 1999 to 2000.

Yes, he has extensive experience. He also works in the financial industry. He once served as Deng Xiao Ping's interpreter.711414c2d54274c1c9e38242d63c46c2.webp

I think by the end of 2025, things regarding J-35A induction into PAF will become clear till then this back and forth will continue. I believe people are reading too much into Khawaja Asif's statement. Government in a damage control mode since that blunder from official X handle revealing future acquisitions that would nullified surprise element. HQ-19 news was particularly something which would have raised many eye brows in AHQ and GHQ. I believe after getting some proper "communication" from concerned quarters they are bending backwards now on all claims not realizing that J-35 bit was already announced by PAF last year.

Not an unfinished product! The J-35 as we currently know it has been flying since 2016 in its current form. Given that it was originally an export product ONLY, not given the due attention by PLAAF, It continued on with its development for the export market until very recently when PLAAF jumped in, funded the development, moulded it to become what PLAAF wanted it to become for itself. The original export specs have had enough time to get developed and tested.

All these talks don’t matter now anyways now that it has entered LRIP for PLAAF (or has it?).

No, the first J-35 had its maiden flight only in October 2021

But this person is not a member of the Communist Party of China. He has been out of the Chinese government system for too long. Although the places he works for are well-known, they are just marginal think tanks and enterprises if you look closely. As a Chinese, you should know that it is impossible for non-party members to access core military secrets and government decisions. He can only give some advice to the government, and he cannot represent the Chinese government. My personal opinion is that he is just an Internet celebrity like Professor Shen Yi, who sells liquor on Douyin or earns some appearance fees. And he is very unfamiliar with the military industry system.

But he is probably still more well connected with Chinese contacts then anyone else on this forum, so maybe that in itself counts for something. Serious cognitive dissonance going on with this thread. We want to pick and choose what sound sources are actualy sound and give more credibility to anon profiles on here (some of whom may not even be from the country they claim to be from) then to senior former members of the Chinese government. Bizarre......

On going Training on J35

I'm asking to @maverick @Zarvan @Maarkhoor and others who are insisted that PAF will get J35 before PLAN/PLAAF

NAME ONE FIGHTER JET THAT MANUFACTURER DEVELOPING FOR ITS AIRFORCE AND NAVY BUT EXPORTED IT BEFORE INDUCTION OF ITS AIRFORCE AND NAVY

NAME THE ONE COUNTY @maverick @Zarvan @Maarkhoor

it’s not about that, it’s about having something available based on needs and based off active scenario.
Pakistan and India have been actively engaging in combat since 2019. This is the best place to test an upcoming aircraft and figure out its abilities tied to it, and if there are any improvements that are needed, they can fast track those improvements.
that’s the way I see how J 35 will be a part of Pakistan Air Force and it will help China develop a more robust J 35 series over overtime.

This is not my question, answer my question please, India don't have any 5th gen jet and will not have any 5th gen jet near future, their AMCA will not come online after 2035, so we are not in a hurry to buy 5th gen jet because our enemy (India) don't have any 5th gen jets so far, so no threat from our enemy so far 😉 🙄 😜
