Quick thought and a question. it’s widely reported that Azerbaijan’s JF-17s will be upgraded with Turkish systems, including ASELSAN subsystems, Turkish munitions, and possibly even a Turkish radar. Some are calling this upgrade the ‘Block 4’ or the ‘Anka Edition.’ Is this correct?

Recently, photos surfaced online showing a JF-17 equipped with an IRST system. Some analysts suggest it might’ve been part of early Block 3 testing, which Pakistan later chose not to pursue. That said, with so many fake or misleading claims out there, I’m not saying it’s confirmed. just something that caught my eye.

One thing I forgot to mention….Azerbaijan might’ve shown interest in the JF-17 after some initial testing, and possibly asked for the integration of Turkish systems into the jet. Pakistan agreed and carried out the integration and testing phases before making an official offer. I’m not entirely sure about the exact timeline between the initial request, the integration, testing, the offer, and the final contract.
I am assuming that at least one JF-17B was integrated with Turkish upgrades.

I don't want to assume any Turkish weapon / component to be integrated at Jeffs as of now, Other than the Pods for that 8th hardpoint. Chinese weapons / avionics are far superior then anything what Turkey can produce. PL-15s, PL10s are now combat proven as well. I don't see much of a benefit for different supplier integrations unless Azeris have got all those turkish components production in-house (to save costs and further development)

Secondly, Turk defence industries are very vocal, whenever they start on any project they make headlines and their media give a lot of attention to it. There's nothing from Turkey about any on going work in this regard. So, I don't think that there is any active turkish involvement.

Do we know for sure that all JF-17 block 1 are upgraded to block 2 standard ? And if yes, are there any plans to bring them to block 3 by adding AESA and everything else ?

Also, it seems that we stopped making anymore Block 3 after the initial 24-26, why is that ?

Is a picture of every serial number necessary for them to exist? PAF did order 30 blk3 and I don't know of any strong reason to believe that order wasn't completed before moving on to export orders. If anyone does then please share.

The first ever A2A kill by a JF-17 Thunder has been confirmed to be a MiG 29 of the IAF.

please share a link . if this is the case then great news for export orders. i thought the official sources gave credit to j10s for all the a-a kills. re: s400 it cannot be claimed as a confirmed kill as we did not see any footage or satellite images id destroyed control unit or the cheese cake unit.

I believe we took loan from China for J-10Cs. If we have to pay this soon, this means it was a bad loan.

Also, I don't think the loan will be paid from defence budget. Maybe added to other loans that pak took from china.

In my opinion, and this is something I have been advocating for long, Pakistan need to take a loan of $150 billion from China on favorable terms. Payback everyone that have lend us. So that we only have to payback china. And spend the remaining money on infrastructure, economic zones and all.

OT but what is going on with the F35 parked in India for about a week now ? Is India secretly being allowed to inspect it for future sales ? I cannot believe the story of a maintenance issue.

Something about all these visits of military officials to Amreeka is making me uncomfortable. Pakistanis have historically been extremely poor negotiators with the West. I hope we dont make mistake of leaving China and going back into US orbit for sake of F16 or some other weapon platform when Chinese tech is improving day by day.

If the US agrees to sell some good AWACS and electronic warfare equipment, then thats a different story.

I don't think the leadership is stupid enough to pivot to the US for some scraps of US technology when all our frontline assets in every service are shifting towards Chinese tech, we train closely with the Chinese, they are our neighbours and our economic partner, and a rising power.

Also the Chinese themselves are not this stupid to be fooled so easily by Pakistan that we somehow sell their secrets for some US passport, this seems more like conspiracy talk by awaam.
