China does not want an organization where it has the same voting power as Somalia or Angola. The whole point of becoming powerful is so you can control your own destiny and not become hostage to global consensus.

The only reason China and Russia started BRICS is because they could not take on the US by themselves -- the same reason the EU was started by France and Germany. If China feels it can deal with the US as equals all by itself, why would it want to be hampered by other countries?

People like Trump uphold the typical rules of the jungle, and he's always thinking that a few big guys should work together to bully other little guys. But Chinese culture is not like that, and we know very well that Trump's approach is extremely short-sighted, and will only lead to the corruption and degeneration of the big guys, eventually dragging the entire human civilization down with him. What you say about having China replace the US is also impossible, we can't afford to pay the price of maintaining the entire world order. If we force this, we will inevitably get the same end as the US.
