It is world economy now in terms of consumer goods prices and not the wage/salaries. If tomatoes are $4 a kilo in Canada then they will be around are Rs 700 in Pakistan

we could have put an end to the legal plunder of state treasury by bureaucrats, generals and judges. all receiving heavy allowances and incentives. could have saved a few billion rupees each year. for example, the military guys will receive an additional 50% allowance from now on. there is absolutely no need for that. the civil service and executive departments receive an executive allowance equal 100% of salary. this is on top of the houses, vehicles etc they receive.

You can peel all of these expenses back to zero and it won't make a dent to what is structurally wrong with our economy.

Very simply, I think VCheng commented on the same, I.e., #1, we spend way more than we earn and #2, more than 50% of our income goes to pay off debts (thanks to countless nationalized organizations and assets.)

There are many memons that side of the border who’re heavily invested in real estate, textiles, bollywood production, service industries.

Pakistanis, contrary to what Indian media might have you believe, is predominantly an agrarian society with majority of its people able to make ends meet.

Also the fact that there is a large grey economy, which was previously being funneled into real estate. Things have slowed down on that front, but doesn't mean people don’t have the capital.

At the moment, people are happy with deploying capital and expecting 6-8% in UAE, Africa, US, Canada. Thats pretty low as per Memon standards.

What about Sindhis ? They are not business savvy? Our sindhis eat drink and breath business. They are the Apex predator of business world. !

Prominent Sindhis in Pakistan can be categorized into

Feudals - own large swath of agricultural land with their vassals. There is a negative connotation related due to the hierarchical system but it benefits the people (provided the feudal interests align with his vassals). However, democracy struggles to operate within such a system.

Business man - very business savvy. Deepak Perwani, a Hindu Sindhi has made it big. Alot of big wigs in agricultural product trading, textiles, fashion industry.

The Bhutto clan are predominantly Sindhis.
